R60 Finance Room Add-Ons, Looking for a Briefing on
Brakes
it seems that a countryman all 4 brake job from any mini dealer must include new rotors
About $1600
Thx
Alan, if you dont want to spend $1600, LMK. I hate seeing ppl getting ripped. Thats just way too much, even for rotors & pads w/ install. Stk brakes simply do not need to cost that much.
I did return for my ResistAll treatment today. I know it's a sanke oil. Basically an expensive detail & sealant. For me it was the 7yrs of 'replacement' if the seat tears, bolsters rip, unthread, floors get stained, paint gets damaged from bird droppings, etc.
Being you have to slide over the drivers bolster to exit, I thought this was a good deal.

Alan, whoever told you that any CM brake job MUST include rotors is outright lying to you. I'm tempted to advise you to run the other way (away from the dealer), but who told you that? The person that stands to make a big commission by selling you the extended warranty?
They would not know if your rotors need to replaced until they examine them. Hopefully your dealer's service department is more honest than whoever told you that. But keep in mind that a dealer makes huge markups on parts, so beware.
On top of that, $1600 to do a brake job that includes all 4 rotors is still wildly overpriced! For example, even if you need rotors the full MSRP for the front ones would only be in the $100-$125 range each, and rears significantly less than that!

Between service, brakes ,possible clutch I will get my$ worth
Thanks
I just bought a Countryman S All4 at the beginning of July. I decided to go with the extended maintenance and the sealant, but declined the extended warranty and tire warranty. I plan on ditching the run flats when they wear out, so the tire warranty didn't make sense for me.
I got the extended maintenance because they said you can only buy it at the time of sale. I heard about the cost of clutch and brake repairs, so I figured it was a good deal. Plus, it's transferable to the next owner if I sell it. I'll probably buy the extended warranty later, before the original warranty runs out.
But I have to say ... I really regret getting the sealant. It smells terrible, burns my eyes and also aggravates my asthma. It's better now after three weeks of open windows, but it even got on the cabin air filter, so I smell it every time I turn on the A/C. It's awful, but at least it gives you a paint and leather warranty.
Anyway, if you want the sealant, at least bargain them down. Paint and leather protectant is cheap.
