Somebody somewhere on this forum described the front end of the S as looking like a "Sad Catfish." Since seeing that, I can't help but think that every time I see an S.

CMS or Sad Catfish? You decide:

sad catfish, love that...or a sad clown; that's what it looks like to me(and I can say that because it's how ours is going to look...I actually like the look)-.. and I dig your visual aids....nice work ! However, per the prior poster, I would think it would be MUCH cheaper to change out the front grill/facia on an S than try to add power/dual exhaust, etc. to "pep up" a non-S....

I don't know about that. Is that taking into account the $3600 price difference between an S and non S? haha. I have a non-S in manual and love it. I do prefer the S grill actually. But I couldn't find a used S for less than a new base model. Pretty crazy. Also wanted the gas mileage. Very happy with it and love the look with the Thule roof racks. I plan on blackening the scuttles and grill soon. Maybe headlight trim as well.

Looks sharp! Get the NM Torque Arm Insert for ~$60. Much less "spongey" feeling off the line and makes it more responsive. It's not a night-and-day difference, but is definitely more fun to drive.

Here it is with the grill and scuttles blacked out. Try to ignore the paddle board on the roof and my business magnet on the door.
