R60 Automobile Mag's long term All4.
no clutch problems for me and my 03/2012 build
i have an 03/2012 countryman s all4 and have no problems with the clutch when starting out from standstill, the clutch is very light at the foot, very positive engagement, but not at all grabby
in my 42 years and almost 2 million miles of driving, i have only had 1 automatic transmission for 2 years (a chevy vega, worst car i ever owned, but that is another thread)
after reading this thread, i "borrowed" 3 "big guys" (all 250 pounds +) and went out to find a hill to start on
no problem, no need to race the engine or slip the clutch (and the hill assist works great!), tried the standing start on the hill both in regular and sport mode, made no difference
i have no gauges yet, but it seems the boost is coming on as low as 2000 rpm, and by 3000 rpm she pulls like a freight train
around town, just me in the car, 2nd gear starts are a non-issue, but i normally start in 1st, then 3rd, then 4th or 5th, shifting at 3000 rpm or so .... this is getting me 25+ mpg in town
driving more agressivly in town, running straight thru the gears, shifting 4500+ rpm, i see 21mpg
highway, 6th gear, 70-75 mph, cruise on, 34-35 mpg
all the mpg's above are with mobil 93 fuel with NO ETHANOL! this car hates ethanol, take 4-6 mpg off the above with 10% ethanol fuel
i drive 28 miles 1 way to get no ethanol fuel
seems the 03/2012 software updates make a big difference, i wonder if there were any 03/2012 hardware changes made? anyone know?
overall, i am thrilled with my new mini cooper countryman s all4, and think it is the best car/truck i have ever owned, you can see my build options in my sig below, all are listed

My experience with my 1/2012 build All4 manual is similar to Scott's. Very pleased.
2/12 build here. I can not say I have the same experience as bmwr606. In the 7 weeks of ownership I have gotten to the point where I don't ever stall it but, I come very close on a daily basis! In my 23 years of driving I have owned around 25 vehicles, of which only 4 have been automatics. This CMS just isn't right!
I wonder if the stutter issue would solve this problem? Seems many of the people have mention that the acceleration after the upgrade is much smoother and it made a difference.
Now that would be dependent on if service will perform the update without the issue showing. My service cannot replicate the issue, so will not perform the upgrade. Bringing it in again for that and a few other things to get looked at.
