Fuel gauge question

For those of you that have the bulit in nav system....is there any special meaning to the illuminated 'dot' at the 'full' end of the fuel gauge?

I could not find it in the manual.

Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing, and then I realized it was probably designed as a night driving reference point for full tank mark. The theory sounded logical on my Tahoe to SF treck in the dark a couple days ago since my fuel level was going down and I could easily spot where the full mark was thanks to the little dot.
Incidentally, the dot is there for the non nav / connected models as well.

There's a thread somewhere on this. As I recall, the general consensus supported Fredo's reference point theory.

Yes agreed - The dark JCW gauges at night on the highway mean that without the dot you don't have any reference point.
