R60 Motor-tober $750
Hahaha thanks!
The name actually comes from 2 horses I had at the time--"Ann Acre Foot" and "Southern Arrogance." Hence, AnnArrogance.
It just sort of stuck, even though I'm not in the horse business anymore.

day 3, 5 am, still no certificate in my email - still a lot of day left. my MA told me to call this friday if it doesn't arrive. (i suggested to my MA that Mini should have given real certificates to the dealers to sign and hand-out to the customers that attended motor-tober and registered at the event....but that would be way too easy)

Pulled the trigger with use of moto-tober coupon
I used my moto-tober coupon yesterday to purchase a countryman all4. The car is being built second week in November, and dealer seems quite certain that I'll have the car before year end. That's the plan at least. I got the dealer to guaranty the price of the car should it arrive after 1/3/12. The way I see it, there is still plenty of profit cushion for them to do ok either way. Once I decided to pull the "buy" trigger, the hardest part was picking the color combo with so few countryman on the lot to compare. I went with true blue, black top, and racing stripes.
Good luck to all...
Cheers,
Jaffo

I went to the event last Saturday AM. The coupon arrived within 24 hours by email. Every dealer I talked to honored the coupon.
Each dealer has alloted slots for a build, and in my case the dealer placed the order into the system for their first available build date right on the spot. I'm suppose to get more info next week so I can follow the production, shipping, and transportation of the car all the way to the states. That's it in a nutshell...there are a few threads that discuss this in more detail.
Good luck!

good to hear! i think Mini corporate marketing really botched this great program, as evidenced by the confusion on both the dealers end and the consumers end. it appears that the dealers are stepping up in most cases to honor the discount where it is otherwise unclear. (also the timing is crazy...order a mini lets say a countryman at the end of october and get a certificate and it is only valid if the countryman comes in jan 3? kinda crazy since the consumer has no say on the production and delivery times...it should have been more straightforward...like order or buy any mini in october and visit for a test drive during the event any time in oct and get a certificate (which should be handed out by each dealership)....that would be more in line with a campaign called Motor-tober, in my opinion.
I got my couon this morning after the event yesterday and my dealer will honor it in addition to the previously negotiated price. Also, my MA said they did not have to change the priority status since mini corporate did not ask for a list of cars already ordered as they normally do. Perhaps Mini realized how bad an idea it is to exclude people who have already ordered and still have the ability to walk away from the transaction.

i never got my certificate after attending the event. i kept bugging my MA about the certificate daily (most attendees on this forum got it the day after the event) but he said not to worry and he would honor it, even if he has to eat it. to date, i still don't have a clear reason why i haven't received my certificate- i can only guess. upon my request, my MA sent me an email stating that he would honor the additional $750...so i'm resting easy now. i bet mini in general will have a good number of cancellations if they don't honor it and that is why many dealerships are honoring it. so far, my MA at Herb Chambers Mini of Boston has been straightforward in dealing with me, so i would not expect anything less at this point. $750 is nothing to sneeze at.

Darn skippy! That's paying for my (mostly) superfluous Cold Weather Package!
Glad to hear your MA is honoring the discount anyway!

I understand, and all that matters is that you are happy with the car and experience. That being said, $750 is still a good chunk of cash and it seems odd that some dealers are honoring the rebate no questions asked and others are not. There is inconsistency in what forum members are experiencing and maybe it has something to do with the status of the order. I got my production number on Friday for an order placed on Oct 1 so it could be I was early enough in the process.
I am just happy my MA confirmed I was elligible so I am stepping out of this debate.
Enjoy the car and post pictures when you get it!

Yep, the certificate came in my inbox within 24hours of the event.
I am a little concerned about the Jan 3rd deadline because my car isn't built yet and it has to get to the West coast. I only got a soft answer on how flexible they would be on the "delivery" part of the fine print. I'm pretty sure the car will be somewhere on US soil by then and I'm more than happy to write the check on or before Jan 3rd even if the car is not delivered on that date.
At this point they're telling me the car should be here in time so I'm letting them do their work and we'll cross that bridge only if we need to.

so strange that i didn't get mine...i did order not too long before the event (again, i would have waited the week or two if it mattered) but it seems that other people like you who ordered before their event still got the certificate. i guess im just a worrier by nature (crossing bridges before i get to them hahaha) but with the confirmation email from my MA (who actually managers the mini dealership) i'm not worried at all - just very curious...why
. ( fredoin did you register at mini's owner lounge before or after the event? just thinking if that had something to do with it.)

thanks brewswap....i didnt mention that last week i called mini several times regarding this issue...all they say is contact your mini dealership and then the mini dealership stated that they don't know what is going on, but they will honor it. ughhh
anyway, i think i milked this cow dry. just want to get it...and pay for it sans the extra discount and all will be good.

This is kind of like the insurance commercial where the insurance company gave him a free falcon! LOL

that's what i thought...wrong email address...not sure if they have two systems...one for mini and one for the dealership because i did get email correspondence from the dealership just not the cert from mini. but after notifying them, they should have been able to fix it...if this was the case.
OK, I've got a question. My MA said he would honor the coupon. When my MCs came in I took the coupon to him and he said he couldn't honor it now because I wasn't financing it through them. Has anyone else had this problem? Funny part was he wanted to keep the coupon. I have emailed Mini but have not had any response.
There is nothing in the coupon language that requires you to finance through BMW credit. In fact, there is no language at all on the certificate that says anything about financing. Your MA is lying. The reason he wanted to keep the coupon is so that he can claim you didn't have one. Not only is he lying, he's also stupid because all you'd need to do it print out another one from the email you got from MINIUSA. You should talk to the dealership manager and let him know that you intend to report all this to MINIUSA if they don't give you the $750 off. If they still refuse ask them for something in writing (signed by the manager) saying they they're not going to honor the coupon and why. I'm sure MINIUSA would be very interested in seeing it.

i agree with the others here...tell him that he either honors it or you will go to websties like dealerrater.com to tell everyone about their dealership and their underhanded tactics, they may also have a facebook page, etc. but, if you need to, find out if there is any loan prepayment penalty in writing...if not then get it and pay it off right away!
btw, i never got my certificate but had my SM put in writing that he would honor the additional $750...so i dont anticipate any issues.

i work at a dealership as a finance manager, and 100% rebate has nothing to do with how you get the car, pay in cash, or how you finance, that 750 comes from mini, towards buying the car, they don't care how you do it, so please don't loose the 750.
