CMS Blowing Hot Air

When I'm driving around on a cool day (15C/70F) with just the air vents going, no AC on and non-clime-control temp setting to minimum, the air coming out the vents is quite warm...much more than outside ambient. It remains warm 15-20 min. while driving in stop & go traffic. Opening the windows drops inside temp but still get hot air from vents.

Is this due to underhood temps getting high from the turbo and thus heating the fresh air intake ductwork or is it something wrong?

That's pretty normal from my experience. Try turning on the AC until the air gets cool, then turn the AC off. That seems to help it get a lot closer to ambient and stay that way.

That is my experience in my base (non S) model as well. If you try to vent outside air it is significantly warmer than in other vehicles. I did not find turning on and off the A/C to change it. Cool when the A/C is on, back to warm quicly after it's off.

I'm going to take a look around the intake air ducting to see if there is any visible problem and to see if it is reasonably sheilded from underhood hot air. That turbo system right at the front top side of the engine means all the heat just builds up under the hood when not driving at speed...I'm 90% stop & go in the city :-(
