One more black sheep for the fold

Here's our triple black as she came from the dealer (actually after her first real bath). I'll snap some more pics after I mount the winter wheels and install some custom stripes that are on order.

We are digging the black headlight surrounds and the way they match the anthacite wheels

Black is beautiful... but I'm going to need to teach my wife how to properly wash her car

I love the blacked out lights. Not an option yet on the CM here in Canada.

Yep - It has the anthracite headliner... Kind of a tough little Darth MINI. Just ordered a set of Black driving lights for it as well. I was planning to go aftermarket, but the MINI lights were the only ones that looked "just right" to my wife. The dealer did them at cost as an apology for a mix-up on the interior trim color.

I couldn't justify the cost of the stock setup, new grill etc. I just bought the VIP brackets but have not decided on a light as of yet.

We received our snow tires yesterday. They are on 16" Elbrus I06 wheels from Tire Rack. If the rest of the car was clean so that the chrome line exterior shined a little more I think they would match quite well.

I am really impressed with the Tire Rack. The wheels with mounted tires were at our door less than 24 hours after calling in the order.

One of the other things I like about them is they are kind of similar to the rims on one of our classic Minis in that they are body colored with polished exterior surfaces.

Hey TNcountry, The interior color mixup was just the dash trim kit. We ordered the black checkered panels, but the car arrived with the standard dark gray. We didn't want to re-order, or tear the dash apart. The sales team was apologetic. We were happy to get a nice discount on some driving lights, and have grown to like the dark gray trim.the dark gray trim.

What level of tint did you go with? 50% on the rear and 70% on the fronts?

@jimbo - the tint is 20% equivalent, so the installer adjusted accordingly on the sides and back.

20percent is what I used on my Pepper White/Black Mini.
By far illegal in NY, but really made the car look sharp!
I may go 35 percent on my wife's new Countryman, should
be dark enough and still be light so to not attract the
"Tint Police"

I was glad it wasn't the color line. The California Highway is finally on it's last leg to Brunswick. Maybe I'll get to see mine soon.

Hey Mark! This is beautiful, and pretty much the exact same way I ordered mine (which should arrive in February with black exterior, black headlight, anthracite 5-star 17" wheels, anthracite headliner, white turn signals).

Can I get your opinion on something (and others opinions too!)?

I got the pure red color line interior with pure red seats, and I'm considering whether to get some sort of stripes on the exterior. What are the custom stripes you're ordering? I can't decide what to do with the exterior!

(my name's Mark too btw).

Hey Mark! (sorry if repeat post, just getting the hang of this).
I just ordered pretty much identical car (black exterior, anthracite 5-spoke, black headlight, anthracite headliner, etc).

I'm curious about what stripes you're getting? I can't decide what to do! I got the pure red interior and seats, so I'm considering red stripes but I can't decide if car looks better with or without !

I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on what they think looks best !

thanks, Mark (yep another Mark)

Mark,
My advice is to look for ideas on the web. I hit Flckr, photobucket, google, smugmug, bing, etc., until I found something close to what I wanted. My son photoshopped some ideas and I have my stripe ready ... just no car yet. :(. My two cents.

Mark, I think with your solid black body/roof, a one thick red strip from bonnet to boot would look pretty slick.

Thanks for the advice! Looking at pics all night, I've been leaning toward the single red stripe (and the little black driving lights). Nothing to do for next month but stare at pics of other people's cars... sigh.

Finished installing our Stripes!

Our stripes arrived just before Christmas and we decided to take our time and install them ourselves... it is fussy work to get stripes staight and centered on a non-flat surface. My wife and I worked on them together and survived the ordeal -very pleased with the results. And quite happy with the quality of the FLXpaint product vs. printed vinyl. The color is Synergy Green Metallic and it looks sharp in person. Hard to capture the flacks on a camera but I tried below:

Got the winter wheels mounted too.... just in case it ever starts acting like winter this year.
