JCW Aerokit Downforce Performance Noticeable? + Acceleration times :)

JCW Aerokit Downforce Performance Noticeable? + Acceleration times

To continue my CTM tuning project, i'm getting ready for some performance tuning

1. I'm wondering if the front splitter, side diffusers, and rear diffusers make a noticeable difference to the down-force upon high speed drivings like on the highway?

2. Is there also a JCW rear spoiler for the CTM? I think it would look great with the JCW Hatch version's spoiler on it. hahaha Or is it comming real soon?

3. Next is the acceleration times..... is the CTM S Automatic (ALL4 and 2WD) 0-60mph (0-100km/h) time accurate to the one factory claimed? 8ish seconds? however, the 2WD may get to the very very far end of 7seconds? 7.999secs? haha! anyways i haven't have the time and free space to test out the acceleration with a stop watch....just yet....

4. How about the overtaking speed acceleration times? like 50-75mph timings? (80-120km/h) or 38-62mph timings? what's the official speed they use in timing? i'm not sure tooo. just a brief one would be fine haha thanks

5. What is the fastest speed you have ever got to in your CTM? Anyone exceeded 130mph?

thanks again!!

As far as top speed goes...see below. Not sure about the 136 being true as the speedo over estimates in our attempt to not being wrong on speed in the wrong direction. Saying you are doing 70 but you are actually going 75...BMW/MINI would rather it say 74 while you are doing 70, but the ODO remains accurate, just represented speed is affected.

Mine reads 2 mph faster than what GPS reads. My 2008 MC was 4 mph faster.

I think you can safely say the JCW bodykit is purely cosmetic, if it does produce any extra downforce it would cut a few MPH off your top speed, another factor is the extra weight of the kit will affect your power to weight ratio, slowing you down even further; I test drove an S and an S All4 in Scotland a few weeks back, the S All4 felt significantly slower than the S, I guess it's the extra drag and weight don't help it. Which makes me think the JCW CM will probably use a much stronger engine than the existing JCW MINI's, I'd really like to see it use a version of the 2.0 twin turbo 4 in the lastest 5 series, the JCW CM needs a solid 250 hp to be competitive against the Golf GTi, Opel Astra VRX, Renaultsport Megan.........
