Installed MINI Roof Rack on Bandit, but.........

OKay, so i installed the roof rack today on Bandit, and come to the last stpe, which is to install the rubber strip to seal the railing, and one is shorter than the other....anyone who has installed the rack themselves run inot this? I ask, as before i reach out to MINI, thought maybe i got a defective rubber strip or it got "cut" to short at the parts factory.......????

I think the rails are different lengths. Front is longer, it is the one with the tabs on the bottom side.

Same here one is shorter than the other. But the lock cover, covered the empty space so it was cool. Still wondering why one was shorter, because I thought both rails are the same size..I'll have to go measure tomorrow.

So you guys have the shorter one on the back rail? I put that one on first(which of course was the "right sized" one, then put the one on the front rail(which ended up being the short one). I am with you on the lock covering it, but if someone who had the dealership install could take a look and see if they pop the lock covers, does the rubber strip cover the complete front rail and thus the back rail(usiing the shorter one) cover completely as well.......

Maybe that's my problem!

I never measured, but the two crossbars I have appear to be the same length. Will check again to confirm...

thye appear the same legth to me as well, which is why i am wondering why one strip would be shorter than the other....thinkning this is a manufacturing defect, but then we all seem to have experienced the same thing......
