R60 $250 Double Load Floor Pictures
It's actually quite thick. It can certainly take a few hundred pounds with no issues.
If you want to do serious hauling, you don't want to do it in a CM anyhow. Final answer - Very confident, no anticipated problems.
I'm sure there's an amount of weight you could put right in the center that might cause bowing, but it would be a pretty spectacular amount. I'm going to throw some bags of gravel and some paver stones back there in the next few weeks, and I don't anticipate problems.
Thanks Tippy and Sealy...just thinking ahead to the drive back home coming up soon. Got official word that my Mini is at the dealership and waiting for my arrival at the end of the month. Planning on hauling some stuff home to save on shipping and was just a little worried. Also, I sometimes travel with some heavy camera gear and thought the floor may not take it. Not now. Thanks!
Sealy....I gotcha all I need is the support brackets in the middle, which sucks because I did order the option but was deleted. But you would think they would at least install the supports for later retrofit. And why the heck would MINI have the floor with out having the brackets available?!!! It's cool I've grown to become very patient since I ordered my MINI.
Hey Sealy!! Can you help a flat load out owner out?!?!??!
I just picked up my CM with the flat load and get the middle hinge, but for some reason, getting to picture 4 where the entire flat load floor is removed escapes me? Is there a secret ninja switch, brute force or something else needed to remove the floor entirely?
Thanks in advance if you're able to help!

@ sealy & Tippy -
Thanks!! I felt like an idiot as soon as I was able to see the mechanism! Thanks for the info!
BTW for all others - if you're in decision mode and on the fence about the flat load floor, do it. You'll find it useful at some point.
On the contrary, if you're on the fence about the cargo net, I'm leaning towards that was an expensive net and get yourself something besides a $250 net. I haven't unfurled it yet, but based on having a net in a bag, I don't have much hope for it. Maybe there's a surprise ahead, but I seriously doubt it. Me = Sucker.

So...i ordered my countryman in July and it was delivered just a few weeks ago...I was going back and forth among options and trying to stay within a certain price I decided against the flat load floor...but...was also told that this was an aftermarket product...after finding this forum :-) and realizing this wasn't true :-( I quickly called and tried to change my order...no luck it was too late...and when I took delivery of my countryman which I love was told there is no aftermarket flat load floor...surprise, well not really...does anyone know how I can get a DIY flat load floor? I am DIY challenged! Help?!?! Thanks!!!
I'm sure that it's not all that difficult...however I am a female who has no experience in the auto or wood shop departments :-(
I will have to look and ask around and see if I can't find someone who is and who would be interested in making me a flat load floor for my countryman.
Someone could probably make a few dollars if they were interested in a side project of making flat load floor for those people you ordered their countryman before the flat load floor option was available and those of us who should have known better than not ordering it as an option! Or am I the only one who regrets not having the flat load floor...
I absolutely recommend the flat load floor option when you order your new countryman or if you are buying a new/used countryman off the lot if you every plan on hauling anything or folding the seats down. I really think that this should have been and should be a standard option!
