Glad it worked out for you at Prestige...I did not have the same luck by a long shot and ended up ordering from Westchester Mini. Wish it had worked out since they're less than 10 minutes from my house but unfortunately it was not to be and Westchester isn't all that far away.

Good luck!

Barry, wishful thinking! I ordered my car on Feb 28, built and has been awaiting transport since Mar 14. 2 weeks just sitting waiting to be loaded on a boat. I think mid to end of May for you is more realistic.

Given that Barry says his car is sitting Bremerhaven already I see no reason why he couldn't be driving it by the end of April. His is coming into the port of NYC, the same as me, and I sat in Bremerhaven for only a few days.

If he's on the Faust, which leaves Bremerhaven in 2 days, he'll be in NYC on 4/13. That leaves 2 full weeks for the VDC and dealer to do their voodoo and for Barry to start driving his new toy before April slips away.

Seems like a slam dunk...if he's on the Faust.

I don't know my exact delivery date yet but I expect that I'll end up taking delivery somewhere in the 5-6 week range from date of order.

I was already on the edge of my seat and I wasn't even behind schedule, so I can't imagine how frustrated you must be.

Good luck and try your best to remain patient under these difficult circumstances.
Glad your CM is on it's way. We were on vacation for a few days, which thankfully gave us relief from this obsessing over our errant CM's arrival. I just checked with robo-MINI today and it still says awaiting a vessel. I also sent an email to our MA to see if he has anything different...haven't heard back yet.

Familyman,

mine has been at Bremerhaven for 2 weeks already. I don't know what the hold up is. Calling mini cust service is a waste of time, they state once it hits the port, they don't have any info, my MA has no additional info. I guess I just have to sit and wait, but yes it is frustrating.

I'm in the same predicament as you, down to the same order date. It is frustrating not knowing what is going on.

Perhaps we should start our own "forum of the frustrated" Our order date was two weeks prior to yours -- see my signature for the sordid details.

The waiting is VERY frustrating and it does seem that you're in something of a black hole until someone finally decides it's time for your car to get on a boat. Who makes that decision though and based on what criteria is something of a mystery. Destination port is most certainly a key factor but there are likely others that we're simply unaware of...Mini shipping prioritization secrets. They could tell us but then they'd have to kill us.

Of course if they killed us then we wouldn't be able to pay for the stupid things when they finally show up so Mini has apparently chosen to keep it all a big secret and not have to deal with disposal of all the bodies.

Not sure why they can't give us an ETA for being put on a ship though. It can't possibly be a mystery to them as they know their order flow, the quantity of assembled cars in queue, destinations, etc. Surely they must be using a computer program to optimize the movement of cars and ships and therein be able to give us some clue as to when any given vehicle will be loaded. Isn't that why they have logistics specialists?

Thumbs down Looking at 12 weeks, at BEST

I just heard from our MA. Husband's Countryman is scheduled to be loaded on the K-Line ship Bosporus Highway on April 13. A whopping 8.5 weeks after order (Feb 14) and 6.5 weeks after production completed (Feb 25). It took almost 3 weeks to get from Austria to Bremerhaven and, by the time it ships, our vehicle will have been in Bremerhaven for over 4 weeks.

Bosporus Highway is scheduled to arrive in Brunswick GA on April 25 (10 weeks after order). It will be at least 10-14 days before we can take delivery here in Texas. We're probably looking at 12 weeks, AT BEST! Really unbelievable. Not so much by itself, but it is unbelievable when compared to most of the other Countryman orders (well, except for you, Ryanzak).

I've been quizzing MA on whether the vehicle was damaged and had to go back to the factory. He says that's not the case. He's puzzled by the delay, saying he's ordered other CM's after ours and they've already shipped out. He said if he'd had any idea it would have taken this long, he would have ordered another one for us and then we could have taken the one that arrived first.

I might have to quit reading NAM for a while -- I'm finding it difficult to deal with the Countryman envy I'm feeling!!

I ordered mine on Jan 24th and we are still waiting. It has been at the port of exity (according to the dealer) for about two weeks. He syas he has never known a delivery to take so long. I figure it is trying to avoid the snow here!

So I guess I am looking at least 12 weeks for my CM. I shall be without car in a week or so, so things in the backwoods will start to get really ugly!

We ordered our Countryman All4 on Jan 24th and it arrived at the dealer here in Detroit 2 weeks ago. Just waiting to dump our current lease to pick it up. Going to get it this Saturday! Can't wait, we will be a 2 MINI family until my 09 Cooper S sells!

Mine sat in Bremmerhaven for 3 weeks before being loaded.. then sat in GA for 2 days before being offloaded. My vehicle was completed feb 7th. And it took all that time to get here.

I think a lot of un-clued-in dealers are still quoting delivery like it is coming from the UK, mine was a bit more realistic saying that it was 9 weeks instead of the typical 6 weeks.

It's SO worth the wait. I was fortunate that my dealer had him ready to go the very next business day. Including tint! Hopefully your dealer can be swift like mini of Austin.

Thanks Ryanzak. Our dealer has offered us the use of a loaner car to bridge the gap between a car being turned in off lease and the arrival of our Countryman. I feel this is very nice of them, considering they have no control over the logistics.

Hopefully they will also get our CM prepped very quickly when it finally arrives.

I called Mini Canada today and they can tell me nothing. After the dealer told me 9 weeks is longer than he has known in his 9 years at mini. THe unhelpful girl on the mini phone line said it can take 4-6 months to get here. I laughed and said that is not what the dealer thinks, then she said 12 weeks would be normal, then she said 4 months is 12 weeks, then I laughed more and said you clearly have never been pregant as any woman knows months have more than 3 weeks in them.

So she says Mini Canada cannot track the cars once they leave the plant, she has no idea when it left production and has no idea where the car is. Excellent customer service all around.

My van is "this" close to being sold and then we will be carless, for ??? I totally appreciate production glitches etc, but the thing has been finished for weeks, according to my dealer.

I wonder if I am developping a Mini anxiety disorder?

12 weeks = 4 months...excellent math skills. And I love the varying time frames...9 weeks, 4-6 months (12-18 weeks in Mini Canada time, a whopping 16-24+ weeks on the rest of planet Earth), then back to 12 weeks (sort of).

Goes a long way to explaining why they can't find your car or give you an intelligent update.

I feel your pain.

Good luck in getting this resolved in 2011!! Don't blink though, 2012 is right around the corner in Mini-Canada!!!

I actually kind of wish our CM would take a couple of weeks longer to get delivered because winter seems to be hanging on longer than we anticipated.

My relatives in Northern Jersey told me a bit earlier today the forecast is for up to 10" of snow

Get your snow shovels ready Family Man my back already feels your impending pain

Mine is finally on the boat! I emailed my MA yesterday and he emailed a response stating it is on the boat, ETA is 4/20 at the port in California. The OL still states awaiting transport?

Hi
Thanks for the reply and the info.
We'll handle any snow that is thrown our way. We did all winter long.
How do you know the day your car will arrive?
Thanks Barry

See and I can't wait to get the CM out in some snow, unfortunately my MA said it shouldn't be here for another 2.5 weeks, I think spring is here to stay by then.

Good news finally. I got the following from my MA. Great to have an answer and a boat!

This vehicle was not delayed in production.

The delay was during the transport:
Due to the fact that there was in February an important increase of production and furthermore on transportation from plant Graz to Bremerhaven there were not enough closed trains on the market to capture this increased volume in time. Unfortunately, due to the increased volume some vehicles didn’t reach their vessel in time. Therefore this MINI (and many other vehicles) were delayed at Bremerhaven.

The a.m. MINI will be shipped with vessel “Faust”, ETA Halifax April 4th. 2011.
