Destination Ports...Do They Make A Difference?

My CM is about to complete its build and get in queue for a spot on a transport ship. From the various threads I've seen in here it looks like that wait can be a few days or several weeks, with "luck" being the primary factor cited in determining the difference.

That said, I'm wondering if the destination port has any influence over how much "luck" folks are having...or not having. I could be way off but I'd imagine that larger ports, such as New York, would be receiving more frequent shipments and therein might cut down on the wait time for anyone taking delivery through that port.

Has anyone seen a correlation between destination port and the time spent waiting for your CM to get loaded on a ship?

In particular I'm interested in NYC but feel free to share regardless of your specific port.

Very cool...thanks.

So if they hit the March 15th completion date they're currently quoting, my best case out of Bremerhaven to NY is on the Fedora leaving March 17. But two days to get from the factory door and onto a ship is something of a fantasy so my most realistic best case is to be on the Fidelio leaving Bremerhaven on the 23rd. Beyond that I'm into April and losing more sleep in anticipation.

Fingers crossed for the Fidelio but secretly hoping for the Fedora

Just saw a WWL ship leaving NY harbor was hoping it was on the way to Bremerhaven to pick up my CMS which is hopefully built by then.

Probably the Faust heading to Baltimore after dropping vehicles in New York and ours in Halifax.

They just bumped my completion date up by a day...will now be done on March 14. I know the odds of being on the Fedora leaving Bremerhaven on March 17 are only slightly better than the odds of my winning the Mega Millions tonight but I can still hope, can't I?

Or am I wrong...are the odd of winning the lottery better than of my car being on the Fedora?

Don't tell me...I don't really want to know.

There is also the chance that you will be on a k line ship. The Kline that o am on left later, but takes a week less to get to Brunswick because of interim stops

We ordered our CM on 2/28 and just got the VIN from the O/L . Our CM only took 2 days in production 3/7 - 3/9 and is awaiting transport. Seems to me the O/L is pretty current. You just need to go to "Review Order Details."

Thanks for the info about 1st Gear atlchica

Hobie, it's great that the O/L has been keeping up to date on your order. I wish I could say the same for mine but it has lagged by several days throughout the process so far.

My Mini was born yesterday and is now awaiting transport to the port...woo hoo!!

I'll keep a watch on the O/L to see how long it takes to update but as of right now it still says Scheduled for Production.

Sigh, my CM has been "at the port" since 3/4. I was hoping it would get on the Tristan but so far no updates indicating it is on a ship.

I called 866-ASK-MINI and the automated system gave me the scoop. You'll need your order # or VIN when you call.

I contacted my MA after that to see if he had any additional details...he didn't but did confirm that the car is built and on its way to the port just as Ask Mini had told me it was.

Good to know, I've only been going by the owners lounge, didn't want to call my MA, or he'd know how obsessed I am and add on something or lose bargaining power later on. Car is listed as scheduled for production since last week (I ordered 2 days after you) so I'll call Mini later today to get a real update.

Last update was finished in paint shop. So I still have a few days I would think.

Actually completion expected March 17th, woo hoo, St. Patricks day. Hope it makes it on the Fidlio leaving March 23rd, but probably more likely to be on the Faust leaving the 30th.
