6,000 miles motored as of today in my All4 S auto (with the dreaded heavy sunroof ... ruh roh). I drive 100 miles a day, which breaks down to:
70 miles cruising the interstate just shy of 80 mph
20 miles cruising around 65
10 miles city/stop and go

Averaging 27.8 by the onboard, similar with manual calculations. My MPG gradually improved after 3,500 miles and has leveled out now.

Driving style: Sporty, but I tend to be pretty gentle on the revs. No need to tear up the daily driver when I have a kart for racing.

 

1200 miles. Getting consistent 30 mpg - both on the onboard computer and manually. Mostly commuting 30 miles each way at highway speeds. No sunroof and stick. Pretty happy!

 

CM S-ALL4, Manual, True Blue, white roof and too many options. Oh well, it's only money. And a hoot to drive.
600 miles only, but easy to hit 32 on the hiway, tough to get 28 in around town mixed driving.

By the way, if you are configuring, for what it is worth:
Manual is a little notchy. 1st is a little tall. You get used to it, but if your spouse only drives once in awhile, they will grumble. And no valets.
The Rain sensing wipers are mediocre. The standard delay wipers probably quite sufficient. Of course, it means you have to remember to turn off the lights all by yourself..
The screen on the sunroof rattles. If I did it over, I would skip the sunroof.
Power folding mirrors: ooops. Bag the cold weather pkg, and get just the seats.
And consider black wheels. I forgot how dusty European pads are. Yikes.

You will smile when you drive one.

 

An All4/6 speed manual here - averaging 25.5 mpg with the first two tanks.

Probably skewed slightly to inner-city driving over interstate/highway.

Considering these are literally the first two tanks of gas, and engines usually get more efficient as they get broken in, I'm pretty pleased.

For comparison, my R32 would yield about 18 mpg over the same kind of driving.

 

All4 Auto 21.9 ( I do warm up for at least 10 min in the morning) LI NY still cold in mornings. I reset only once after the first tank.

 

Note on warming up: It's not necessary to do so. It can actually be bad for the turbo in the long run. I forgot the specifics, but it's better drive in low RPMs till the engine is in operating temperature. I turn my car on, sit for about 30 seconds and go. Keep the RPMs under 2500 until the engine is nice and warm. better that way since the fluids are moving through the engine, but not in a super rapid state as if you were going WOT (of course).

 

relative to a coupe or any other Mini--much bigger frontal area too--width, total height, larger mirrors, wider tires, etc. Higher off ground too so more general under car turbulence, especially compared to how low the coupe is. Yet a little more too w any incremental rear drivetrain stuff underneath. No Mini is a Cd wonder to start, but when the front area goes up meaningfully, that's a lot more aero drag at moderate and higher speed.

 

Countryman cooper S ALL4 manual with 3600km (2200miles), sunroof, 17" rims with runflats, 5 seats configuration.

Average is 11.5km/l (27.05mpg US), lately im getting also around 12km/l (29mpg) on highway at 130kmh (80mph).

Filled yesterday and onboard computer showed 520km (323miles) till next refill.

 

CTM S, manual with sunroof. I'm 1/4 of the way into my second tank, and am getting 24.8mpg in mostly city driving. I'm hoping to take a long drive in the mountains soon, to break Smurfette in and see what she can do.

 

Care to elaborate? WHere I live the cold weather pkg seems like a no brainer (mainly for the wife to have the heated seats...i could live without). Just curious as to why you say no to the power folding mirrors.

 

Save yourself $150.00 to use somewhere else on the order and just check off heated seats and heated mirrors/washer nozzles. Never use the power-fold. Gimmick!

 

Thanks, but the warm-up is not for the car, but me. It seems its the car takes a long time to throw out heat. ( I wish they had a heated steering wheel ) The older i get the colder i feel lol

 

Convenience. I live on a narrow street with people who drive trucks and SUVs too fast and who have kids on bikes that don't respect other people's property. I also park in the public Metro lot. MY SO failed to push the button one time - the replacement mirror assembly insert was about $300. As often as I fold and unfold, well worth the price.

 

I think the folding mirrors apply to certain people and areas.

Like myself, I'd have no use for that; that's because of where I live. I'm sure someone that lives in a more congested or "tight" and crowded area would see some advantages of having it.

6 weeks in, many short commutes, I'm getting over 23mpg. Not so great, and I don't rev it that much, but like I said--most of my drives are less than 6 miles.

The car needs to be revved to have any semblance of acceleration, but I'm trying to maximize mileage presently. If I start consistently revving it passed 3000rpms to feel some power, I'll see how much the mileage drops.

 

That's pretty bad. I get around 21-23 on the streets with my STI.... we are known to get crappy MPG.

Maybe try saving the boost for the weekends.... Your bank account will like you more in the long run

 

Got 34 MPG on the highway drive home last night.

22 miles when we pulled out of the dealership: standard countryman.

Off topic sorry, but if you look in the fixing problems fourm for the CM their is a topic on the sunroof and the rattling i guess their is a little plastic piece you can take off and it should stop rattling just though you might want to know.

 

CMS Manual/ 18" wheels w/ sunroof - current mileage on odometer = 887

Just did a jaunt to Nashville, TN. Roundtrip was approximately 630 miles. Overall avg MGP = 30.12; direct trip home running AC I got 33.52; onboard computer was right on to figuring manually.

First fill up - 27.9 mpg based on fuel purchased, trip meter.

City/Highway split maybe 60/40? Avg speed per computer: 27 MPH (?? I assume this includes idle time?)

Spent quite a bit of time "testing" the acceleration too, up to 4500 rpm anyway

 

My mileage has been going down slightly, based on the real-time trip computer. I had been averaging about 25.5 mpg, and now it's about 24.9. Not sure if I'm driving more stop-and-go vs. highway, but that's what I'm seeing. Will be curious as to what I calculate next time I fill up!

 

22.7 mhg - all4 s, auto - (break in period not aggressive driving)

 

almost through my 3rd tank... I'm at 22.8 mpg, with some aggressive driving (how can you NOT?! ) and the sport button on half the time. I have noticed that not having the sport button on helps with my mileage.

 

Got 27.0 on my 1st fill up after 3 days of 70/30 highway/city driving. No sport button yet, but like Sirius said, quick starts are hard to avoid. They are too much fun! It was nice to fill up on less that $40 too.
