First, I'd like to personally thank all of the contributors to this forum, your experience and input is invaluable. I am just ready to pull the trigger on my Cosmic Blue CMS which will be my first new car in 6 years, my trusty XTerra is going out to pasture with 250k miles. My question is that I see the tank capacity listed at 14 is some of the literature but then the MINI USA site lists 12 gal. Can anyone clarify. Thanks again !

 

Not sure about the countryman.... but for the hardtop it seems like the tank is 13.2 (according to documentation) and then there is ~2 gallons in the fuel lines. When my car is completely empty (oops!) it takes almost 15 gallons.

According to the Countryman Owners Manual the Fuel Tank Capacity is "Approx. 12.4 US gallons/47liters."

 

Yes, that would make it 14.5. I have an R53 which says 13.2 + 2.1 reserve and the most I've ever put in was 13.1gal.

 

Thanks for the replies. Not that it would change my mind. So I am now part of support group for Countryman owners awaiting delivery. Name TBD.
