Hi Lindseybp,

My MA had most things set up. The internet radio was not, he said he would call it in yesterday PM. Annette said she heard they are offering some, for the life of the MINI deal, that you might be able to call and check on before hand. I plan to call on it later today.

I did not have my music on my, brand new iPhone4, so Neil used his phone to demo some things, then hooked mine up for me. It was weird when the phone rang (over the car speakers) on the way home. All I had to do was push the button on the steering wheel & answer the wife's questions then push the button again to hang up, very cool. If I had music & the MINI apps on my phone I would have gotten more done quicker, which did not occur to me.

The navigation features were all loaded in, Neil ran over the options of how to use it and which map view I might like...pretty easy stuff.

I Don't think you will learn the whole system sitting in the parking lot at the dealership though, some of it, at least for me, will require a little experience and more time to get "fluent" with it. Neil asked & found out I am relatively computer literate so he just showed me everything with us both understanding it will take a little playing with it to get good with it.

I am not trying to use all voice commands, at this point. I doubt it will be practical to do everything by voice. I believe the phone can be used almost entirely by voice though and that is a great feature. Think about whether you want your contacts loaded last-first or first-last, name wise. This is important because if you say it backwards to the voice system......

The radio features are so easy to adjust on the steering wheel and with the stalk...plus there are some cool station etc. displays that help you choose what you want. I think voice will be a much less powerful feature for the radio. Where it can be used I doubt I will...

I think my sales person did a great job and was well prepared. I'm not sure that all sales people follow his example.

The rain finally stopped and I had a chance to give her a wash and take a few pics. The car is a blast to drive. It feels very tight and well put together. It's a silly item (kinda) but I really do like the ambient lights. They look great against the polar beige color line.

IF the weather holds I hope to be able to give Wulfric a good wash tomorrow, he has dust on him which is worrying me! Then a good waxing I hope. Guess I will check with MINI girl tomorrow and see what amongst her vast supply of MINI cleaning/waxing products is the current favorite. Found out this PM that the wife's is on a truck heading for the dealer. Guess there will be two MINIs in the garage next week. Mine WILL be the shiniest ;-)

Hello fellow week 5ers!

Been lurking this forum for a few months and finally just joined! I finally picked up my first Mini on the 12th and I couldn't be any happier with this car! My MA initially said my car would be available for pick up on the 14th, but he called on the 12th and said i could pick it up that day.

I was in and out of the dealership in about 90 minutes. My MA just went over the basics with me and I was fine with that because I wanted to play around with the car and discover it for myself. All part of the new car experience for me.

I'm hoping to take some new pics this week, but here is one from the dealer when I picked it up.

Congrats Agent 328,

That is a fast time for the pick up. Nice stripes. I will be getting my stripes at the Dragon, along with a little flag work.
