Dimensions of cargo area

We test drove a Countryman S the other day and really loved it. We were at the dealership for an hour + and got a really good feel for the car and are pretty close to pulling the trigger on the order and becoming a 2 MINI family. Anyway in all the fun we forgot to measure the cargo area and I can't find anywhere printed dimensions and was hoping someone here could tell me the dimensions or point me in the right direction to find them. I would love to know 2 things, 1) The dimensions of the cargo area with the rear seats up and, 2) The dimensions of the cargo area with the seats folded.
We are planning on having a custom K9 box built for the back, assuming there is enough room to bother. Something like in this pic.

Would be eternally grateful if someone could help.
Annette

The bottom dip (area under the flat floor) is 37 1/2"x19 1/2". The Top area (flat top) is: 23"x43" and with the seats down it's 56 1/2"x 49" (door to door). The first numbers are length, second number is width, if you were wondering.

MINIxB, you rock! The unit in the pic above is 44" wide by 40" deep by 30" tall so looks like it should fit in there!! Woohoo!

No problem. We originally measured it to see if it was bigger than my husband's xB since we are replacing it with a Countryman.

Don't forget with seats up you can slide them forward and give you more boot space.

I think we are going to take another trip down to do another test drive (we drove the All4) and try out the FWD S. I'll take a measuring tape this time to be sure, but having the dimensions now makes it easier to continue on the MINI path. DH was also looking at the Audi A3 and the VW Tiguan. I'm not in love with either of those, but it's not going to be my car. Crossing fingers for the MINI!
