Yeah, it's very sporty, but not nearly as fun as my 03. It is pretty cool to have the All4 traction. On wet ground, I can accelerate faster than my 03 just because the wheels don't spin.

time to joint the "who's breaking in..." forum.

Chase is now at 110 miles since delivery (Tuesday night) - I've told myself not to use the paddles until he gets to about 1,000 miles or so, but the temptation to change down and drive through the corner is great!!

Coming from an '02 MCS, it's a totally different car, but it still feels very MINI.

And this morning I waved at another MINI coming in the opposite direction, and they waved back!!!! (this make me VERY happy)

If you come off the highway after driving highway speeds for an extended trip with 4 adults in the car it maybe a good idea, but modern turbos are designed to drain the oil to prevent coking.

it's my understanding that there's a fan in the engine to cool the turbo after you turn off the ignition.

after we got our new CM home, I could clearly hear a tiny quiet little fan noise once the garage door was closed and we were ready to go in the house...

That fan noise could be black helicopters circling around your home. Have you copy and pasted any Smurf images on this site from a Google search lately ?

Absolutely. Check out Mike Martin at BMWCCA. Factory "free maintenance" is not satisfactory if you intend to keep your vehicle past the warranty.

Thought I'd revive this thread for 2012 ppl taking delivery in the coming days.. I'm up to 500 miles now and will get past the 1200 mi break in pt this weekend when I do a round trip to Lake Placid! Will be picking up oil & filter from the deal and do a change next weekend.

It's available on the Owner's Lounge under "Your MINI".
