posting large pictures

I've been hanging around for a while, but still have a noobie question. I am a little "stoonad" sometimes. It's pretty embarrasing I can't find this anywhere...

How the heck do you post full size pics within a post, rather than attaching a thumbnail?
THANKS!!!

I have found it is easiest to upload the pic to NAM or some other hosting site, view the pic, then left click the image and copy the http address and then use the image attachment button in the reply window and copy the address there. It will show up just fine then. But, make sure to resize the pic before uploading it so it itsn't too big when posted here.

I'm glad you asked the question because I can't figure it out either. Now I feel even more computer challenged. I did not understand what ScottinBend said to do. It's tough to be a computer idiot. Oh well, at least I figured out how to click on a thumbnail to view it.

Thanks so much!!! I swore I tried that insert pic icon in the toolbar before.

So for future reference
1) right click on an image that is hosted on a website, select "copy image location"

2) Click on the "mountain" icon for "insert image" that is in the toolbar next to the text formatting buttons. Copy in the URL and you're done!

Also, if you use an image-hosting site like Photobucket, the site can generate tags for you and automatically copy them to your clipboard so you can paste them into your post. You can choose to have it generate a tag to insert the full-size image, or a clickable thumbnail.

Okay, I guess I'm really dense. I can't figure out where to start. Any of you talking Windows 98?

Hey TachnoGirl, sorry I didn't clarify earlier, we posted at the same time. This works almost the same on any system, but step 2 below would have a different name depending on your web browser.
And this is not definitive, I just learned, it's just my best description.

The most important thing to understand is you're not uploading pics that are stored on your computer. You are really providing a link to a picture that is on another website, and then that pictures is grabbed from the other site. So the picture could be in your NAM gallery, or a photosharing website like flikr, snapfish, or any image on a website like iheartbritney.com

So,
Step1 is upload your pics to your NAM gallery, other photo website, or find the pic you want on any website
Step 2 When you get to the pic you want on a webpage, right-click on the photo and look for something like "Copy image location", e.g. the internet address of that single image. The name could vary depending on your browser.
[Ok, I just checked Internet Explorer 7. It looks like you need to right click and open "Properties" to find this link for the image. But you shouldn't be using IE anyway. Get Mozilla]
Step 3 Click on the mountain icon and paste in the link for the image.

The caveat in this is if the picture is deleted/moved from the hosting website that you linked to, it will no longer show up in your post here. What I posted above was Britney being a dork at an awards show. It could change or disappear.

Any more questions?

You cannot link a picture from your computer. It must be uploaded somewhere on the internet.

(img)http://www.photobucket.com/yourlogin...cture.jpg(/img)

Replace ( ) with [ ] and you're good to go!

Thats the code once you get it uploaded. I prefer a website like photobucket.com for uploading.
