Another hello from Oregon...but this time from Seal Rock, Oregon...& not be confused w/ SEAL6 from Eugene,
Annette and I (John) have just purchased a 2007 MCS, Sparkling Silver...from Portland's Rasmussen Mini. Just logged mile 334 on the way home from work tonight...
Speaking of work, the MINI was THE talk around the office ALL DAY. Today was the first day parked in the employee lot. People coming in and out of the office CONGRATULATING me on such a great car...hoping for a 'test ride'...EVERYONE loves the MINI!
SEAL6 or anyone interested, if you have any questions regarding my purchase/service at Rasmussen's...which was terrific btw...just drop me a line!
Happy to be here on NAM...looks like a great group of people!

John,
Congratulations on your new car. I'm down in Roseburg. My car is scheduled to arrive today in Port Hueneme. If the ship doesn't make an unscheduled stop at Catalina.
How long did it take your car to go from the dock to Portland? I spoke to my MA today and he wasn't able to provide me with very specific information, other than to say I should be able to pick up by the 25th.

I can't say! Our car was actually ordered by someone else who failed to pick up the car...as they say, their loss, our gain
Annette and I drove to Rasmussen Mini/PDX last Saturday, found the car on Rasmussen's stock list, drove over to the warehouse w/ the salesman (Jarid Perry, great guy), checked it out, and signed the deal. In at 9:30am, out at 11am. Total wait time to get a Mini Cooper S: 1 and 1/2 hours
The real kicker is the car had ALL of the options we had built on miniusa.com down to color, wheels, all packages, plus a black leather interior we wouldn't have opted for! We couldn't believe 'our' car was in stock!!

That sounds like a great experience. I know who Jarid is; he posts once in a while on Mini2 and has a good reputation. Larry Larson is my MA and is also a good guy.
Hey Jarid,
With John and Annette so happy with their deal I hope to be up there this Saturday to check out the new 07 MCS! And I'm bringing a load of questions with me too!

Great. Shoot me a PM and let me know when youre gonna be here. As John and Annette can attest to...things get nutty around here on a Saturday.

Ahhh, the Oregon coast! Near to heaven on earth! I lived in Puyallup area for 17 years. Now that I'm a MINI owner, I long to make a trek back to the NW to visit. Congratulations on a good buying experience, and finding NAM all at once! Please send pics of car and beach! Best wishes!!!
I'm also from Oregon, city of Roses(Portland) and I'm Pining for an 07 mini, I want it NOW...but I have to sell my truck first.
Welcome to NAM. I see where you commented on the MPG thread. Rasmussen may have gotten their manual demos. My car arrived at the dealership a few days ago. It was among the first manual MCs built and delivered to Oregon.

That's the least you could do. Gotta say, however, that I enjoy Indianapolis, where I was last weekend. I visit there twice a year on business.
Congrats, welcome to NAM. I grew up in Seaside. Best drive, ever, is the short road from Cannon Beach to Ecola State Park- hairpin turns, old growth forest, million dollar view at the end of the road.

You've got that right. The hike from Ecola toward Seaside along Tillamook Head ain't bad, either, if you can drag yourself out of the car.
I spent three years working in Seaside in the early 1990s. I still miss it.
