Long Time/First Time

Hi everyone,

Im a longtime lurker, first time poster getting closer and closer to my first mini. This seems like the nicest forum(s) ever and all those included seem extremely helpful from what i have read.

I had a question if anyone can help me out:

How long is the window from custom mini ordering to delivery. I am on the east coast, in Charleston, which is a shipping hub on the east coast, looking forward to ordering a 07 MCS manual.

Does the type of car matter(MC v MCS)? Is it location? Are 07's in high demand? Whats the sticking points to ordering?

Basically looking to get some time info because it will definitely affect my decision as to when, not if, to order said wonderful automobile.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Welcome to NAM! I'm not sure how to answer your questions. I would suggest determining the exact MINI you wish to order, then call around to some dealers to see how long the expected wait is, and whether they will sell it to you for MSRP.

i see, i figured as much. I had just seen some horror stories from posters about the extended delays and lengthy delivery times, so i wanted to know why that happened and if there was a common cause, such as high demand, etc.

Thanks very much.

Hi and welcome to NAM! Ill try to answer your questions, I went through the same thing a month and a half ago. Unfortunately the window cant be determined because there really is no specific formula on how long it takes. Complicated things like dealer alotments and how many people are ahead of you all play a factor. Whether you are ordering an MC or MCS shouldnt be a factor. Since you are in Charleston and that is where one of the VDC's is located, the turn around for your car once it lands in port should be shorter. Like batgirlwildcat mentioned, the best way to know how long you are looking at is to call your local dealer. They can give you an estimate. Good luck!

you guys rock, thanks for the warm welcome and help. I know it was a virtually unanswerable question, but no answer would keep me away from the eventual purchase.

Thanks again!!

shpg time

I ordered my mcs on 2/10 & picked it up last saturday. It came thru charleston n.c. with a small dent & paint chip above passenger door handle. It was not mentioned & only noticed when my son looked in the passenger mirror. I called the salesman from x-roads h.d. in wilkesboro & left a message & e-mailed him when I got home. No reply as yet. On the + side,I'd forgotten how much fun it is to drive. ( I owned a '64 "s" before I went on active duty )
My legacy gt maybe be faster but,,,,,,
