Hello from New Mexico
tI am new to the Mini scene but not to sports cars and racing. My wife got me interested in Mini's after we finally purchased an 02' S in Nov of 2006 for her. It is chili red with black top, sunroof, leather and 30k. After driving this one once in awhile, I decided that I really liked these cars and wanted one for myself and just 2 weeks ago purchased another 02',chili red, black top, sunroof, twincharge system from Helix, lowered susp, spec stg3 clutch, and the list goes on.
I also own an 02 VW Jetta TDI(diesel) with nozzels, diesel tuning box and boost box. I am a member of tdiclub.com for the VW and I appreciate these types of forums as they are invaluable to learning and finding answers to problems and modifications.
Speaking of modifications/problems. The recent Mini that has the Helix system also immediately developed an exhaust leak at the manifold that I am having to fix. This is not an uncommon problem when adding boost.
Nothing that I own stays stock for very long.
It's great to be a part of this community

Thanks to all for the welcome.
I am working on fixing the leak myself and am in the process of pulling off the manifold. The difficulty has been time and having to fabricate the tools to get the nuts on the manifold off.
Hopefully tonight I'll have the manifold off and I found a manifold gasket through Carquest that looks really good. It is a thin steel with a teflon type coating.
Normally I work on all of my vehicles and prefer to do it myself as much as possible.
By the way "iggy" I did call and talk with Eric about the problem and he mentioned that he was going to be working on a fix in the future.
I just like to work on things myself and I will let you know if this fixes it well.

Welcome! Where in New Mexico? My Dad grew up in Las Cruces, went to New Mexico State, and our whole family has always had a soft spot for the Land of Enchantment...
