Anyone Else on the Maersk Wind?

Its scheduled to make it to Port Hueneme on April 3, which happens to be the second day of Passover. Since I'm already taking time off of work, I was going to drive up to see if I can spot the ship. Anyone wanna join me?

Mine is on the Maersk Wind as well, but it's a bit of a drive from Seattle so I don't think I'll make it. If you see a Chili Red MC with a black top and sunroof, say hello to it for me.

Enjoy your new Mini, I know I will.

Mine is there, too. I just hope the hardtops play nice with the cabrios. I noticed several of them on the manifest.

If you're going to Hueneme, could I talk you into buying me a T-shirt from there? Funny that my car is setting tires on American soil in the city where I was born.

Can do! And I'll bring it to you when I take my first long road trip - we're going to put the top down and drive to BC and back.

That would be perfect. And a great trip for you. That should be a nice drive.

Hey, feel free to come out. The weather is turning so it should be a nice drive from Ohio, too.

You just might want to plan on keeping your top up for a good part of your stay in the northwest, but we'd love to have you.

Check out PSMINI.org There are 2 more waiting for the Maersk Wind, one in Portland and one in Seattle. Take pictures of the ship and post them if you can they are both going nuts!!!! Congrats on your new baby and happy motoring

I spotted the Maersk Wind off the coast of San Diego, on the AISLive website. Looks like she's the home stretch headed for Port Hueneme.

I can't wait. My dealer emailed me and told me to expect the little guy to be ready for pickup on the 4th or 5th. Here's hoping there is no shipping damage and it can clear VDC in one day!

I'm still trying to figure out how I can find which ship my MINI will be on. My VIN can't be found.

I'm the Maersk Wind and here it is off the coast of San Diego right now.

Also, I was able to grab some screen grabs as it went through the Panama Canal. I put them in the week 11 thread because I didn't know about this one.

I can't find the ship anymore on aislive.com. Anyone know where it is? It doesn't appear to be in Pt. Hueneme yet because the booking number still shows all MINIs on board.......

I don't see it now, either, but earlier this afternoon it looked like it was parked in an inlet that I took for Hueneme. It isn't scheduled to leave for Tacoma until tomorrow, so they may have let everything sit overnight so the crew could go out and get some ... tattoos.

I find it comforting that there are others out there as obsessed with the progress of the Maersk Wind as I am. When I tried to show my daughter it's location on aislive.com last night and couldn't find it again, my first fear was that the thing sank. I am assuming that the lack of news reports regarding a bunch of MINIs bobbing around in the Pacific is a good thing.

So, according to the W&W site, the Maersk Wind has already left Pt. Hueneme, but all the MINIs still seem to be onboard. What's going on!?

Didn't you get the email? They sold all of our cars to a higher bidder.

For some reason, I guess they didn't update the cargo list as the cars left the ship. Makes me wonder whether the ship did actually leave last night, which is why it didn't show up on AIS live.

So I called ASKMINI to get to bottom of this. Apparently, my vehicle is now at the port awaiting a shipping vessel, although it was in transit this morning. Maybe it did get purchased by a higher bidder after all!

Hopefully instead of "shipping vessel" they meant "truck to bring it to your front door."

It's funny, that's what mine said, too. However, the online version does say it's on the boat.

If I'm lucky, it's headed for Tacoma. That would make it easier to get, although BMW probably doesn't have a distribution center there. Maybe they can squeeze it in at the Volvo center or whoever takes their cars there.

This morning my Mini is now finally listed as discharged on the W&W site.

Now, I hope those VDC backup rumors prove to be unfounded.
