Long-time window shopper recently took the plunge...
I suppose I should make a proper introductory post (I've made a couple in the Milwaukee MINIs club forum already), so here goes. It ended up being somewhat long, but from my point of view, it took me two and a half years to take the plunge, so bear with me!
I had my eye on a MINI really ever since The Italian Job, but it didn't blossom into a full-blown desire until the summer of '04 when I test-drove an MCS at the local dealership. I put it off for the longest time because, well, I'd never made such a large purchase before and I was balking at committing to such an investment. The practical part of me said that I already had a serviceable car (purchased by my aunt, been with me for six and a half years/116,000 miles including an accident requiring $5k in repair and a period of time when it was stolen) and didn't need to buy something that I had no real need for.
This last month, a number of factors came together (my parents needing a new car and some incentives on the dealer's remaining '06 inventory) to prod me to finally do it. I passed on my old car to my parents and became the proud new owner of an '06 MCS that, after some deliberation, is named Radcliffe. He (I can't really picture my MINI as a she) is a cool dark silver/black with cold, premium, and sport packages, HK, and the iPod connection. I'm finally out of the break-in period and am looking forward to pushing him the way he was meant to be driven (although paying for gas is not fun!).
Pictures of Radcliffe do not exist yet, as the weather has been pretty crappy and I haven't come upon the best opportunity to take some snaps. Since he's pretty much stock equipment, though, I'm sure you can picture the car in your minds.
I've been poking around the site when I can and it's truly a treasure trove of useful stuff, not to mention a great community of fellow enthusiasts. (I killed a whole night just going through the "Things you didn't know about your MINI" thread.) I look forward to participating in the lively discussions and hopefully I will be able to join in on the various motoring excursions from time to time!

Now all you need to do is post a picture of your new care in all of it's brand, new, shiny glory. It will be a good way of showing everyone what your new Mini Cooper looks like.
Congratulations on taking the plunge!!
I own a 2005 Mini Cooper S and I love it.
