R53 mechanical problems corrected in R56

I am scheduled to take delivery of my R56, Mini Cooper S, on 2/17/07, and have been reviewing the website posts regarding two specific areas of component/mechanical failure on the R53 and earlier models:

1). "Mushrooming" of the front strut support towers.

2). Failure of the liquid-filled motor mounts.

While some of these failures may have resulted from vehicle modifications and/or extreme driving conditions, I would like to obtain specific information on what BMW/Mini has done to rectify or improve these two items. I noticed that several of the website launch photos included pics of the new R56 front strut towers.

Any information from the manufacturer on these items would be appreciated.

Certainly i have had no issues with strut towers in the 3 months and 2500 miles I have had my MCS, though i don't know exactly what changes were made.

Best of luck sleeping tonight
