Hi everyone! Few Questions...
Hello good morning to everyone or afternoon depending where you are.
For the last week ive been debating about purchasing a Mini. I might be making more money in the next few weeks at my work so I might have extra money to afford it. Ive always wanted a mini every since it came out.
From what ive been reading it seems like its pretty difficult to get the car under msrp
i didnt know they were still in such demand, but oh well. Im in Socal too so i guess it make it even harder here. I went to Irvine mini and the lady said they would be offering 500 off msrp since the 07 were coming on valentines. you think i could get more off or does that not seem possible?
Also its extremely hard to find a bare bones stock version of either the MC or MCS all the coopers are like 21-23k well i can get a mcs for 24 and wondering if its worth the extra. I really would love to have the MCS but afraid it might be too expensive.
Is their also a popular color among the board here. Im a guy and want a black or dark grey, i do like the red, but might gf says i would look "funny" in it..
thanks for the help.

Be wary of Irvine Mini. They don't seem to rate very well.
What's being a guy have to do with Black or Drk gray? My wife drives a black car. Red not a guy color? Tell that to the Tifosi.
The S is worth the extra, and you're not going to find a bare bones Mini on any dealer's lot. I don't think any existed unless someone specifically ordered one.

Check out my chilli red MCSC! I love the Red color and I am a guy. I have had it for about a month and no one has said anything about it except how nice a car it was! Click on my gallery.
Good Luck!

MINI sells cars a little differently. They have few dealers outside of metropolitan areas. Consider all dealers as buying a car at a distance and driving it back is a common technique. I talked to a guy Saturday who bought his last one, and plans to buy his next one, in Oklahoma. This isn't so much to get a deal below MSRP but to keep from getting hidden and other additional charges.
At a club preview in New Mexico I gathered the impression that it is a corporate decision not to discount the 06 MINI. I also got the impression that the dealers might throw in this and that accessory to sweeten the deal but their hands are basically tied. This is a good thing because it will help your MINI retain its value.
The 07 is much more technoligically advanced and the small additional cost is well worth it. The 06 has some MINI intangibles, headlights you can use to inspect your rain gutters, exhaust burbles to remind you of high school days (if your 60), and the supercharger whine. The 07 has massively improved fuel efficiency, better ride, better materials and less pollution.
I'm totally satisfied with my '05 and have never had a car more fun to drive. I've virtually given up both airlines and interstate highways. Every dollar spent on an airline ticket could be put into the MINI and driven! And driving a MINI is faster on the back roads.
Oh, that reminds me, no young person should ever buy a MINI without factoring in the cost of a performance driving school . . . not to learn to drive faster but to learn to drive in control. It ought to be a law but since it isn't, it ought to be provided to every purchaser under 25 by MINIUSA. It would save lives, MINIs and sell a lot of cars.
