Paper label in CD player

Hi out there. I am new to the website and need help ASAP. I have a '03 Mini that I am selling to help pay for my '06 due in in mid-Dec. My daughter used a CD in the player with a paper label. It wouldn't eject completely and finally I grabbed it when it started out and pulled it before it tried to take the CD back in. I got it out, but half of the paper label stayed in the player and now it just says "error" and kicks the CD back out. Can I pull the unit and physically see inside to hopefully take out the paper and be back in business? How do I pull the unit? Does the whole dash face plate have to be removed? Help please? The ad goes in the paper in 24 hrs. Thanks-Tony

It should be fairly easy to remove the head unit, pop the cover off and pull the paper bits out.

Take out the 4 fixings either side of the down tubes and then remove the 2 screws in cupholders. Pry out the rim around the gearstick and then pop out the mirror adjuster switche plate. Then take out the 2 screws that are now visible and lift up center unit. Remove the 4 screws holding front of radio and pull it forward out of the frame. You can then disconnect the radio connector and the antenna. The harnes is held in place by a harness retaining plug. One out your should be able to remove the top of the radio caseing and access the piece of paper. Install is just the reversal.
