New '03 JSW owner

Hey,

Just bought a '03 red S with #1, #2, and leather, 28k miles, JCW added at 19k miles. It's in showroom condition. I don't know how people keep their cars so clean, I've already scratched the trunk interior (arrg). I thought I got a reasonable deal, particularly since used JCW's seem to be hard to come by in the SF Bay Area, but am now having buyer's second thoughts since reading here (found this site a bit too late) that the JCW doesn't add much if anything to resale value. It is something I wanted, so it's worth something to me! I payed $22k -- KBB for this year/milage without the kit. Opinions? Also, how's the reliability on the '03s? The previous owner had more than a few things fixed -- replaced seat rails, window that wouldn't open, clutch replaced, etc. He was meticulous about service. Hope I didn't get stuck with a problem car...

Thanks, great site!

Hi We're in the same boat ,pretty much the same car ,ours has 44K.Many of the same issues. We traded a Jeep for about the same money as we could not sell it for.The Mini was about the same money as yours and I felt good about it. But more options and not in CA.The people devaluing the JCW probably could'nt afford the option and so they are bitter. And this has been discussed often.
