Another BRG

Howdy all.

I've been wanting a MINI since 2002. But with the amount of vehicles I've purchased (well over 25, mostly "one of a kinds"/ pieces o'crap) and sold over the past 20 years, I told myself that I wouldn't buy one until I was 100% positive that it was the car for me and that I would not revert to my old, fickle and spontaneous ways. 6 months passed by and I really wanted one. A year passed by and I still really wanted one in British Racing Green. Another year passed by and I wanted a BRG MCS w/ black bonnet stripes, black hood and mirrors. LSD came along in '05 and then I really wanted one. Throughout there were times of financial hardships, jobs involving daily 100+ mile commutes, no places to park a nice, new car --- all conditions that further delayed my decision.

When the news of the supercharger being replaced by a turbo in '07 and weird (ok, ugly IMO) interior changes, I knew I had to try and get an '06. Searching eBay and other venues I found some nearly perfect matches, but none that was what I had been wanting for years.

So...... today I ordered my MINI:

-BRG
-Black bonnet stripes, roof and mirrors
-Black leatherette
-Chrome Line Interior
-Black Anthracite Interior & Headliner
-Sports Package
-Premium Package
-Cold Weather Package (for Colorado winters)
-LSD
-Harmon Kardon
-Rear Fog Light

Production week = week 43. Delivery date around Xmas. Can there be a better Xmas present??

Thanks. I'll have to be on extra good behavior the next 2 months or so in order to feel worthy of such a great gift.

I think you have "not impulsive" nailed now. Very nice selection. I am curious exactly what "black hood" means....green car, black hood, black bonnet stripes...

Welcome! And GREAT CHOICE! Everyone knows that BRG is the best color! Some people may tell you that Red is the fastest! But, we BRG owners know that we let them think that!!!!

You're not going to regret your purchase at all! Or at least I hope not as we don't acutally have ours yet! LOL

By the way, I love your quote in your signature!

Sorry, black roof not "black hood"! whoops.

I woke up today impatient for my MCS delivery, but after waiting nearly 5 years, another 2 months won't kill me.

And congratulations to the others who've just placed orders. We'll have to post pics upon delivery and share w/ some of the motoring vets here.

Congrats on your order! Sounds like it going to be a great looking MINI. Don't worry about the slip... we know what you mean I initally thought your scoop was black then my MINI sense kicked in

Welcome and post pics when you take delivery.. also put yourself on the BRG thread!

You've been on a "journey", and you waited...and waited. Well, you couldn't have done any better to get one of the LAST '06's. You'll have to wait again, but this time...it's happening. Congratulations!

Congrats on your decision..

BRG IS A VERY NICE COLOR! Love to see shots of her when she comes in.
A long and difficult wait, but you will have one happy Christmas.

I was headed that way, but my better half prefered PW/B, and of course being a wise man, decided that "we" would be happy with the PW?B. Which of course, was my first choice until i saw the BRG.

Ours will be in the first part of November (on the production line at present).

Auto
Fogs, all
Interior & ext chrome
Chrono package,
Dsc,
Cruise,
Sports seats,
Beige interior
Xeon lights
& 15" Rockets

Wanted the "S", but the price of runflats and no spare, is not for this old man....

Too funny. If it had been a "we" decision for me, then my better half would've convinced me to go pepper white too.

Have fun in November.

Way to go!

Congratulations and welcome to NAM! What a perfect way to wrap up the year! Your patience has paid off. I also had been wanting a MINI since 2002 and waited for the right circumstances. I recently wrapped up an eternity of night school and slid into my dream job. My 2006 Royal Grey MINI was my "graduation present" to myself. I took delivery last month after three months of stalking the Owner's Lounge daily. It will give "Over the river and through the woods..." new meaning for you!

Cheers,

Cory
