A special thank you!

Although i have posted a few threads in here already, There's one thing i forgot to mention. I'll try not to take too long or get mushy lol.
A couple months ago, my best friend purchsed his first mini. I was with him when he first saw it, when he took it for his first test drive, and finally, when he brought it home. Although it was'nt brand new, it looks really good for it's year(2002). The look of pride in his face as he drove it that first night is one that i'll never forget.
Later,he showed me this website. Now i have to admit,i did'nt fully understand what the deal was with it. I could understand that there were people out there who had an interest in this machine....but i could'nt fully appreciate it.
Too make a long story short, after having been a passenger many times.....and even driving it a few times ( yes,he let me drive it!) As i write this, i am looking out my window...out at the mini that i purchased a couple weeks ago. ( By coincidence, it's also a 2002.) So i guess in a way i am eating my words about looking at this site for the first time. Like i said, i have posted a few threads, and am learning my way around here.I have already been contacted by some really cool people, who are more then happy to lend a rookie a hand. So to all of you...Thanks! Last, but certianly not least.....to my friend (you know who you are). I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to the world of mini's.....and for everything else

It's called MINI "evangelism".

Thanks for sharing your testimony. Keep motoring and enjoying your own MINI.

Yes, the MINI is like that. I thought about it for months, looked, read. Then I found one, also a 2002, and sat in it, drove it. Took only 5 days and that baby was in the driveway.

Enjoy motoring and moding! Upload some photos too!

btw, is Floyd Pink?

Thanks for sharing Floydfan I enjoyed reading your experience.

I didn't agonize as long as most. Didn't watch Italian Job over and over. I had one test drive. That's all it took for me. Oh, and the ability to pay for it helps. Enjoy your ride

Welcome

Welcome and enjoy. It's good to see so many others who love this car out there.

I have to admit, I was eyeing a MINI for 2 years while I waited for my old car to just up and die. It took me one trip to the dealer to decide on the perfect MINI. I came back to work the next day and told my co-workers and everyone had the same reaction. "I am so jealous, I want one of those! But I couldn't possibly they are expensive right?"

So go out and spread the word, classy and affordable and oh so cute! How can one not fall in love with their MINI?

Congrats on the new Mini and welcome to the Mini Fun House. We NAMSTERS tend to get carried away on the subject of our Minis. But it sounds like you're going to fit right in. Now, go forth and convert others in the name of MINI!!
