Introduction - New Member
Hello, all!
This is my first post here - I wanted to introduce myself. My name's Laura Carter and I just ordered my very first Chili Red Mini a week ago today from Flow MINI in Winston-Salem, NC! In a few weeks, I too will be able to post motoring stories like all of you and all the members of the Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club, of which I am also a member.
I'm so excited - this is my first new car ever and the first car I've ever had that will be built to MY specifications. I'm getting just as rabid and obsessive as your average MINI owner (these are good things, aren't they?) and my "Refresh" button on my browser's nearly invisible now!
A little about me ... I'm a freelance writer and my MINI, like my handle here, will be named "KillerKar" after a certain Terry Gilliam "Monty Python" animation sketch - wonder if anyone here's familiar w/that?
I got a Chili Red Cooper with a Union Jack on the roof and white stripes on the bonnet. I wasn't able to trick it out fully like I wanted to (it really stinks not being rich!) but I'll be gradually able to outfit my baby like I want her in the coming months. Pics WILL be posted!
Meanwhile, hello to all and I'm really looking forward to making new friends and meeting other MINI enthusiasts ... and going on these awesome drives I keep hearing & reading about (yes, I've secured my subscription to "MC2" already!)

I swear, this will be the LONGEST 4-5 weeks of my life, I think! I already live on coffee - I'll be a complete wreck once the car actually GETS here!

rest easy knowing your obsession will turn into a full blown addiction in the time it takes you to turn the key.
i have been known to drive 50 miles out of the city at 3 am just to take the Mini out for a spin.

Thanks, everyone, for making me feel welcome. I attend my first MINI event tomorrow - and my salesguy is LOANING me a demo MCS for it! How COOL can a guy get?! You can bet, once my car's in and it's all done, his boss is getting a GLOWING letter from me!

Your MINI is wonderful! And the JCL package, too, I see. Lucky you! I couldn't quite swing that this time 'round but that's OK ... I'm MORE than happy with what I'm getting ... I'm so worked up I'll probably pass out when they "unveil" it at the dealership!
