Welcome, and I hope that savings account is growing quickly - the wait gets more difficult as time goes by. Remember to get your order in a couple of months before you'll reach your goal so you don't have to wait any longer tan you have to. And believe me, it'll be worth the wait!

My husband is 6'3" and fits just fine. In fact he has plenty of leg room and we have a manual. He does have to make sure the seat is in the lower position because his head brushes the roof due to the sun roof. In the mini's without a sunroof there was no problem at all (I think it takes about an inch away from interior height?)

My nephew is 6'6" and loves driving my mini. He has no problems either, leg length or height. His torso must be shorter than my husbands? Anyway, height seems to be no problem.

While I own a MINI at present, I will probably go for an '08 Cooper. And yes, I talk to the MAs at the dealer all...the...time. I nearly pulled the trigger on a trade-in two years ago, but then EB was yanked from the color palette for U.S. Coopers so I gladly kept mine. Yes, I've been talking to the same MA ever since. The price may creep up by '08, true, but I just don't care...I ain't motoring in anything less than a MINI!!!

pottermom-
Thanks for all the height info. That is very encouraging. Do you think the sunroof is worth both the loss of interior head room and the cost? I have one on my current car and enjoy it. Cali is HOT!

There are plenty of naysayers, but I say...

...the sunroof is awesome

Actually yes. My husband loves it. I just have to remember to lower the seat if I've raised it and I know he's going to drive the car next. Even with the seat in high it isn't bad, his hair just brushes it.. but like I said, he must have a long torso because my nephew has no problems... he's all leg. I think if you spend some time sitting in one, test drive with the sunroof a couple of times or just mess with it in the lot you'll know for sure if it will work. I don't think you'll have any problem myself but always best to check it out.
