Here in North Dakota and the rural areas of Minnesota we get a lot questions about the car. My favorite question is "What is that car?" followed by "Who makes it?". I answer something like "MINI, which is a division of BMW" when pressed about the later question.

As far as hand and nose prints I can't decide if it's from my dog on the inside or people on the outside!!! Have a nice day!!

Scotti280,
You let your dog in the mini?? My dog sheds massively so I haven't let him near the car (yet). I'll probably get over that soon....maybe by his next vet visit! I am planning to go the 5280 club meeting, will be my first one. I haven't noticed any face prints on the windows yet, I think that is too funny!! I didn't realize that minis are kid magnets but I'm starting to get that now. I'm the only mini in my neighborhood so I have noticed the kids stop and stare when I drive by. One of my neighbors stopped me yesterday and commented that she noticed I got a new car and how was I adjusting going from a sports car (Honda Prelude) to an "economy car" and that my monthly payments must be cheap!! I almost burst into laughter but just said "It's made by BMW, faster than my Prelude and worth 3 times as much".

MINIs are SO common here (Toronto, Canada) that hardly anyone gives you a second glance.... you're pretty much just another car on the road. We have like 4-5 dealerships within a 40 mile radius of the city!

MrT-Man,
Guess that says something about Canadians....they are cool, smart and stylish. Not always the case in the US....or SUV land!

Suprise

I have the distinction of almost wrecking another Mini driver. I was driving home the other day and I came up on a CR Mini. So, I pulled up beside her and tooted so that I could wave. Turns out it was a high school girl driving her daddy's MC. I guess she wasn't prepared for me to be so friendly. Anyway, I thought I was going to have to pull her out of the ditch. Once she got ahold of herself she waved back and we then turned heads together. I'll keep on tooting so you guys in East Tenn. be prepared.

My favorite one was about 3 weeks after I picked my HB MCS up I was parked outside of a pizzeria waiting on my girlfriend and this family comes out. Mom, Dad, 2 little twin girls (2 years old maybe?). And both the twins pointed at my car and one goes "Look Mommy, pretty car!"

I could not help but smile from ear to ear.

After the parents finished giggling they lifted their twins into the Lexus GS430 parked next to me

TAKE YOUR KIDS ADVICE AND GET THE PRETTY CAR!

I have a Scottish Terrier....she hardly sheds at all. Now my cats on the other hand shed everywhere!!!! Besides you can't say the B-word (Bye Bye) and then not take her....yes I have to spell around my dog. She even knows the word ice cream. See you at the 5280 meeting! Yeah people say, "Oh I want your car it's so cute." I think to myself you can have the not so cute payment!!!! But it's well worth it.
