Negotiating for Minis

Hi everyone. I will be buying a mini within the next couple of weeks and was wondering if I could get a little help. Since Mini dealerships are so few and far between, how much can I plan to negotiate on the price?

Depending on where you're located you'll be doing well to negotiate a couple hundred dollars off the sticker price, if anything at all. You may be able to get the dealer to include a set of floor mats.

In some areas of the country, the MINI's are selling for substantially over sticker price.

I bought my used Mini from the only dealership in Colorado and they have a policy...the price posted is the price you pay. From my research I found that minis hold their value. So my advice would be to check the NADA website for the vaule of the car and go from there. You don't want to pay more than book value if you are buying used. I got my used mini a little under book value but not much. Good luck!!

If you're buying a custom specc'ed MINI from a dealer, plan to pay what they ask. If you don't want to pay that price, they'll just go to the next person in line. High demand is on their side. Floor mats, yeah. That's about it. If you're buying used, definately do your homework, then post it here so the pros can weigh in on if it's worth it. You have a lot of cool folks at your back.

I've seen where folks have finalized there list of options and then sent out request for quotes over the phone or internet. They say they often get it a llttle below MSRP. This kinda give you more power and takes away the homefield advantage they have when you at the dealership. Makes sense to me.
