First Post, wish it was a happy one

I have had my baby for 4 weeks as of yesterday. Lovin' every bit of him of course.

The problem is some person backed into him in the parking lot then drove off!

Only 1,400 miles on the poor thing and he already has a dent in his bonnet!

I'm hoping that someone here can help me out with a link or something to get a new bonnet. I'm not even sure if that is going to be the way I go with it but I want to make sure I check every option before I go spending a ton of cash on body work. I have a 06 pepper white Cooper (non-S). I guess on the up side, they missed the Xenon headlamp assembly so I don't have to replace that.

I am dreading what the estimate is going to be and my deductible is too high to even bother with a hit-and-run driver claim.

I'm in Portland, Oregon, if anyone knows of some where local I can go for good prices or even a junk yard that might have what I need.

Thanks,
Tats

Aloha and welcome to NAM.

It's horrible to hear about your accident.

My wife got struck (rearended) at a stoplight by an older driver who stopped then drove off and left the scene of the accident. Only a little rear bumper damage but I guess no insurance for the person who struck us. Filed a police report and never heard anything more- this guy didn't even show a license- probably didn't have one, car registration stickers were not renewed for years.

Rather than looking for a junkyard bonnet, probably repair of the current dent is more reasonable. Get some quotes.

You might check with your local MINI dealer which shop they send their MINIs to for installation of the aero kit and painting. Usually that is a good place to start.

Good luck.
