My 'New' Mini

I have looked longinly at Minis for years now. Well that's about to end because Sat Aug 19 I will be heading down to Tucson to pick up my new to me Mini. I am getting an 02 Red/white MCS with 19-20K miles on it. It has white bonnet stripes and is a 6 speed. Also has the Sport Package. I was hoping to find one with a Sun/Moonroof but couldn't pass up this deal. I look forward to getting some advice in the coming months/years from everyone on the board.

The MCS "learns" your driving habits...It likes to be treated properly...Not gently in terms of revs....like the other poster said...DRIVE, DRIVE, DRIVE.

My used 04 was too gently driven with low mileage as well....I finally reset the Ecu (when the Mini dealer did a reflash for some emmisions thing) and then It only learned from my driving habits...I vary the revs and take to the redline regularly but I do not go past that mark SWEET! ENjOY!

I presume you have run a car fax on it?

I am planning on driving her. Since I got a great deal about 2-3K less than I was looking to spend and it's out of warranty I think I might be buying some new performance parts in the near future.

Posting at work and I have a ton to do, so I have to do that work thing.

This sucks. I can't get her on Sat as planned. I have to wait till Tuesday now before my funding is there. Have been dealing with my bank for 5+ weeks on this whole deal and I am rather upset. On the upside the individual I am buying from is totally understanding and even offered to meet me half way between Phoenix and Tucson once I get the money in my acct. I was looking forward to driving around Tucson and quite possibly a drink or 2 at the Kon-Tiki. Guess I will have to make a roadtrip some coming weekend.

Just got back from test driving my new mini all I can say is or or and so on. The guy I am buying it from took me to Saguaro Nat'l Park West which is just outside Tucson and what a drive it was. Twisties and turnies and dips and on and on. I feel like I barely scraped the surface as to how well Mini's handle. I can't wait till Tues when I get to bring her home and really get to see what she does. OH yeah -

Awsome I'm in Tucson too, and if you want/need anyone to motor with while you're down here, just let me know! (Hoping to get up into the mountains with some friends sometime between Sunday and Tuesday.. Mt. Lemon and Kitt Peak are both tons of fun)

I like wanna take the 'backroads' through Prescott to Jerome and on to Sedona. Drove through there in a mini van in 2001 and thought how much fun would this be in a sporty vehicle.

Just got back from picking up my mini and then driving it all over town. Lots of fun. Car is sooo fun to drive.

Noticed the controller that changes what vents the air comes out doesn't work. Right now air comes out of the round ones on the dash and the big one in the middle of the dash. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Congrats Mikey and Welcome to NAM. I went to Sedona last October and boy was it fun. Camped in Cottonwood at Dead Man's Ranch. That trip will be a great one to try out the twistees!!!!!!!!

MM, check your manual. If you are talking about air coming out of the large vent on the top of the dash at the same time it's coming out of the 4 vents on the dash, yep, that's normal. It has something to do with... cooling the front/top of the car at the same time... kinda thing.

Congrats and enjoy your new ride

Some MTTS participants from Las Vegas thought so. Today I'm joining them for their trip through Prescott instead of the *yawn* Interstate.

I guess I wasn't clear when I turn the **** to change the airflow to my feet/front defroster or any other combination it doesn't change, it still blows out the front and the one big one on top.
