Greetings - I'm a former owner, having ordered an '03 back in '02 (got it at Christmas of '02, Chili Red S with white roof, stripes and 17's, with all 3 pkgs.), but sadly I sold it when we started having babies. In the interim, we haven't stopped having babies (now 3 under three), but I miss the thing and want another one
I just spoke with my local dealer, and they can't seem to say for sure how long i will be able to order a new '06. Info I've seen online indicates into November, but does anyone have updated info?

 

I also just ordered an '06 and when I talked to my dealer (Richmond, VA) she also said Novemberish would be the last chance for '06s; '07s would become available late January/early February.

I don't know how clear-cut her projections were, but that's what I was told. Hope it helps!

 

Mid-August here is the 06 cutoff, but our dealer's allocations are so sparse they're taking October builds into account. Call around, the date seems to vary from dealer to dealer.

 

In Socal I have been told mid to late September. Also several of the options are being phased out starting Sept 1 production so you may miss what you wanted by ordering late (eg Lapis Blue leather )

 

Depends on the dealer, but to be safe, i'd say order by the end of August... I believe custom orders stop being built by the end of September, with pre-specced models being built through October and into November...

 

It absolutely depends on the dealer - and it also depends on how honest the MA is being. When I was at the dealership last Friday to pick up my mini I was hanging around on the showroom floor while my MA was taking care of the last minute details (switching plates/registering the car/etc) and two other MAs were chatting. One of them told the other that he should tell people that they only have a week or so to order an 06 even though they could actually order the 06 for another month or more.

It was a little sad to hear such stereotypical scummy car salesman talk. Unsurprising mind you, but sad none the less.
