for 'last port' on the equueles leader it says 'UK'...so I'm assuming that this is the 'previous port??' Man this is confusing :(

Merlin was delivered in Denver on Monday. My MA says I won't see it till mid next week! I'm going to go along with him in hopes of the wheel change out but dang this is worse than when Merline was sitting on the Docks at Strattford. It's time to motor and mod.

You definitely will not have any clearance issues or any other kind of issues with the plates. I have the brace and while it presses slightly against the lining it is definitely not a problem.

I'll second this - I just installed the plates in my wife's car, and the only interference you could possibly have would be if you pinched the bonnet latch release cables between the plates and the shock towers. You would have to be putting the plates on in your sleep to not notice that you were doing it, but I guess it's physically possible.

I should have installed the plates sooner - after 6,000 miles, her passenger-side strut tower had already begun to mushroom. It didn't look too bad, but it was tweaked enough that the plate wouldn't even go on when I tried to test-fit it. Following the directions that came with the plates, some persuasion with a hammer and a wooden block straightened everything out and allowed me to install the plate.

I think this goes on the must-have list of mods, and I already a set for my car when it arrives next week.

Scott

Five days and running now!

2006 PW/B MCSa - We have had the MINI for five days now! It is great. The only issue so far is the second key does not start the car. MA said it needs to be reinitialized again. I'll get that later. MINI of St. Louis, Gerd Petermann, has been great! Hope everyone's MINI is working as good as mine.

Great news / they're messing with my head

So after all the drama/delays yesterday, my MA contacts me this morning to say they have my car at the dealer and will get all the options/cleaning done today so I can pick it up this afternoon!!!!!! Yay!!!!!

What are they doing to my car for almost two weeks at the VDC!?!?!?!? I could drive up there in under two hours and just take it!

Damn - I wanted to drive it to the SCMM Ruby's breakfast this weekend.

We'll assume it's "great news" and not "messing with your head."

So it all went well. A small glitch cropped up when we realized they had "accidentally" installed my iPod adapter (which I had asked for just the part) and then tried to charge me the install, but they waived the install and threw in some mats in exchange for me agreeing to give 5s on the survey. I couldn't give a rat's about the survey so whatever.

So I drove home, almost got creamed getting onto the freeway (yikes!) and am now going through all my MINI "stuff" trying to figure out what I can put on now and what needs to wait til the weekend.

Thanks! Just picked it up an hour ago! Here's some pics (both my '03MC and its replacement, my '06MCS). As you can see, I pretty much liked how my old car looked, although the white R84s look so great!

David (who will have lots of fun driving around once I get over this cold and I can breathe again...)

MINI deliveries...

Climbergirl... I think you have a serious shopping addiction!
I love reading about all of the exciting responses to the MINI deliveries. I'm like JJ at this point; just waiting in Petaluma. However, the vicarious experience is pretty fun!

And I want PICTURES too!!!

One more thing. As far as mods go, I'm looking at complete tinting packages (including all windows and the sunroof). Is under $500 a good price (guaranteed for life?) And I'm getting a quote on the full clear bar package involving a product called Llumar... not a 3M product ... the installer claims it is better. Any body have any experience with or info on Llumar?
