Haven't talked to a live person for a few days, but the last one I did talk to said my completion date was Friday, 9/8. The current robot says completion is 9/9 (Saturday?) I better be on the same boat with you guys! Minx will feel terribly left out otherwise...

Don't worry Climbergirl. I would never stoop to slave labor, especially when JJ's wife is willing. My first husband was a professional Time/Life, Black Star photographer and I slaved all over the world plenty. :impatient I will find ways to write this trip off through my own graphic design company. I might just do a cool book on "MINI Tripping" (and then I'll have to attend all sorts of national and international rallies!) Yeah, I like both San Diego and Palm Springs. We must stay connected the next couple of months and make something happen. Meanwhile, I must believe that we will get our cars all done in week 36 (as promised) and we'll start following shipping soon... yay!

According to Amy, the kind flesh-and-blood voice on askMINI, mine entered the paint shop on September 1st, to be completed on the 3rd. Can't get anyone on the phone this past weekend or today. The Owner's Lounge and Robocop voice still indicate that my car is entering production. Anyway, I trust that Amy is more accurate and updated with her information, which should mean that mine is completed yesturday. I'll call again tomorrow to make sure... should be able to reach a living, breathing person. (I'm getting restless with Robocop.)

I just want to say something to everyone here. I feel like this production week has some incredible people in it. Supportive, helpful, funny, energetic, and the list goes on. (not knocking other nam members on the forum) Kissmys, I knew from the beginning when we spoke that there was something very cool about you. Now I am certain. It has definitely been a pleasure talking to everyone. And thanks everyone for reading my temper tantrums. We definitely need to keep contact after we take delivery.

Okay, so here's the post-holiday update... called and spoke with Jeremy, who's not been my favorite and seems like he had a rough weekend.

BUT, I went into the paint shop today. Looks like I skipped the body shop completely.

BTW, the Robot still claims I'm merely "in production."

Looks like "live guy" says finishing paint shop today, (09/05) and finished tommorrow so the recorded completion date was more accurate than the live one was. 1-2 days to dockside and if there's room, ship bound on the 11th.

Did anyone figure out how we know a ship is sailing on the 11th bound for the Left coast. I couldn't find that info anywhere.

I'll be out of the loop until the 8th as I'm off to Rio so good luck to all.

Tchau

Hey! I want to go to Rio! That would be a great way to make some of this waiting time pass. I am, however, accompanying my widowed mom to Monterey from the 12th to the 15th for a little R&R (we'll see how Mr. Mom handles our crazy teens). Oh, and from Sept. 29th to Oct. 1st I'm taking my youngest on a road trip to Lancaster to attend the annual Ani-Magic event (check out http://www.ani-magic.net). She's got her costume all ready and I'm going to focus on the sushi bars and taiko drummers! Oh, how I wish I was driving her down in Minx!

JJ — yes, if we could get some backing from MINI/BMW to do a coffee table/travel book that focuses on the states first. Then we'd need to do a European version. They could sell them on line as well at the dealerships. "MINI Tripping". The books could include some photos from smaller rallies if we judged them unique and quality enough (I'm sure there are plenty out there) and of course yours would encompass all the goings on up to, during, and after some of the larger, planned road trips. The text would be in the usual MINI style; friendly, simple, funny, dedicated to making this a better world. (BTW — if you Google "The Mother Lode by Chronicle Books" you will see an example of one of my book projects — I sold the concept, art directed the pics and layout and wrote the text — two years in the making. I think the MINI project would take a lifetime, don't you? The Mother Lode is out of print now, after 20 years and 3 reprintings...)

Climbergirl; it's beginning to look like this is a mutual admiration group! I'm really impressed with the week 36ers too (haven't even bothered to check other threads... should I?) which is why I'm hoping we can pull off some kind of meeting later this year. It would be so fun!

Meanwhile, I made my second call ever to a live MINI rep a few minutes ago and would you believe I got Jason again? He remembered me and we had a great conversation. The bottomline was the computers haven't been updated since the 3-day weekend and probably won't be all caught up until tomorrow. He did say it still shows my MINI is scheduled for completion this Friday, the 8th, and if a boat is waiting for another load of MINIs, it could very well make the 11th sailing (assuming it's the truth that a ship is scheduled to depart on the 11th — I'm only repeating what others say.)

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

Hi everyone. I'm new to the board and ordered a BRG MCSC two weeks ago. I called ASK MINI today and was told I'm a "week 36'er". I feel fortunate because most of you guys ordered your MINI's weeks ago. Anyway, it's nice to join the group and I'll be reading about everyone and their MINI's in the future.I was told my MINI will go into production between the 11th and 17th of Sept. for a mid October delivery to the East Coast. Good luck all, Rich

From Southampton to NY there are boats leaving: Sept 5, 8, 12, 15, 19 ,26, 29. Seems to take 9 days for the ship to travel from the UK to NY.

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

I just rechecked the schedule from Southampton to Port Hueneme and the Maersk Wave leaves Sept 11 (arriving Oct 4). Next ship looks like the Isolde (dep 9/18, arv 10/11).

Thanks for the details! Hopefully my MINI will make it to the loading docks before the Maersk sets sail on the 11th... once it hits the states she still has a long trek to California!

Of course, there is a VERY good chance that we West Coasters won't be on a WW ship at all. They more often use NYK to ship out here. And only WW has online tracking. We'll just have to bug our MAs for the ship info once that time comes. :impatient

I am dancing in my seat. Wow, I got out of bed this morning and I haven't stopped. Quite a bit accomplished for a Tuesday morning. I called AskMINI and Jay (very fun and friendly), who told me that as of yesterday my car was through assembly and was in quality check. Jay said that as of today, my car should be waiting for transport to the dock. Yeah!!! Boneman, I am switching to Mohito's, can you have one waiting for me please??!

Kissmys & JJblue, when you start the international leg of your book, you must take your personal medical staff along. Hmm.. I better renew my passport. It expires next year.

To all the new 36wker's, welcome.

Foo, go to the WW site listed in the how to track you mini thread, you can search for names of boats based a departure dock and an arrival dock. The cars ship out of South Hampton and arrive to Pt Hueneme(sp) in for west coast arrivals. East coast is either south charlston or someplace in NY.

West coast schedule:
SOUTHAMPTON 11/09/2006 PORT HUENEME, CA 04/10/2006 MAERSK WAVE ED628-MWA 23 Book It
SOUTHAMPTON 18/09/2006 PORT HUENEME, CA 11/10/2006 ISOLDE ED629-ISO 23 Book It
SOUTHAMPTON 25/09/2006 PORT HUENEME, CA 17/10/2006 MAERSK WIND ED630-MWI 22 Book It
SOUTHAMPTON 02/10/2006 PORT HUENEME, CA 25/10/2006 MADAME BUTTERFLY ED631-MBU 23 Book It
SOUTHAMPTON 09/10/2006 PORT HUENEME, CA 01/11/2006 TRISTAN ED632-TST 23 Book It

Hey there is a dog hair (lab) hair stuck inside (yep inside) of the monitor on my laptop. Any suggestions on how to remove it? it's quite distracting.

Now I know why we week 36ers are so wierd, our MINIs will be arriving very close to the All Hallowed Eve. Could it be?:impatient No! Tell me it ain't so! Are we MINI MONSTERS! Is Week 36 a veritable MINI MAYHEM? Are we the Godzillas of the last of the MINI Superchargers? What evil lurkes under the hood of a Week 3606 hood?
Will our simple MODS turn into MONSTERS of the road? And what maddness can be had on a lonley stretch of Southern California beach when under the pale light of a full moon the Mystic 3606 MINIS gather? In the begining we will all desire 91 octane but soon it will be 93 then an exotic blend to 97 and ultimately 100. Clay bars? we will eat clay bars for lunch. 15% pulley's? Try 40%! 22mm rear sway bars? We will have 50mm! Ahhh Haaa Haaa Haaaa! Power! We are 3606!
I'm going to bed now (I think). I hate these moments. The BMW MINI group is cruel in thier addictive promotional program. Little Black Boxes indeed! Has anyone here recieved a Little Black Box? We do not yet know the truth behind our Mystic MINIs.

JJ — I was originally told to expect delivery on the west coast and have the car ready at East Bay MINI the end of the first week in November. It just escapes Halloween, but the full moon is Sunday, November 5th. Now, I don't know about you, but full moons have a definite effect on me and my actions and sleep patterns. In fact, I can already feel Thursday's full moon and it's two days away! If your MINI gets delivered on Halloween I will respectfully bow to Merlin's power and learn to eat clay bars too! In any case, we be truly special!!! I'm going to bed now too, but sleep alludes me. Have fitfull magical MINI dreams.

Im a week 37er but you guys are such a informative and friendly bunch I figured I would ask the ? here. My completion date is 9/11 or 9/12 and it is going to the west coast so it looks like this should be my boat right?

SOUTHAMPTON 18/09/2006 PORT HUENEME, CA 11/10/2006 ISOLDE ED629-ISO 23 Book It

If that is the boat. How long does it stay at the port before being put on a truck? How long would it take the truck to travel to Northern Cali?

How can I put this to you gently? Take a deep breath and exhale while saying in a harmonious tone......."As Long as it takes Ohmmmm. As Long as it takes Ohmmmm."
O.K. that doesn’t work for you. Ask your MA (if you trust him/her), or goto 866- ASK-MINI. Still no relief? Then go to the breathing exercise above. It is all a very mystical process. Dang Druids!

You will either make it (all goes well) on the 18th or the 25th. My production completion date was 9/4. It completed in wk 36, so I am a 36 wker. My car left was transported to the dock yesterday. So, in a perfect world, I should be on the 9/18 boat. However, sometimes cars are loaded on "mystery" boats rather than the WW line. From what I can tell from production wk 33,34 threads the shipping process is the most painful. To the left coast it will take 23 days transit. If you lose your car during the shipping process, talk to your MA. I do believe that at that time ASK MINI is of little help. Hope this eases your mind.
