Ok, so I know this is technically "Motoring Advisor," but I ordered my MINI a few weeks ago and don't have one that I know of. I've talked to the sales manager at my dealership and then the salesgirl I ordered the car from, but no one at the dealership mentioned an MA. Is this an important point person in terms of my MINI tracking process? The dealership always points me to the owner's lounge when I have tracking questions, but between that and ASK MINI, I seem to be doing fine so far. I was just curious - I see "MA" so much on the boards, I thought maybe I was missing something.

MA is just a fancy name for "sales guy" or "sales gal", so the woman you ordered your car from is your MA. It doesn't sound like you're missing anything.

 

Never heard of MA till after my Mini was pick-up and I saw it on post here on NAM

 

Since 2002, the "correct" term for salespeople selling MINIs has been Motoring Advisors. It has been part of the new MINI culture and I think it's kind of sad if certain dealerships aren't still calling their sales folks MAs any longer. To me, it is a continuation of the tradition brought to us from the culture of classic Minis.

 

It's quite possible that while I was ordering, the sales folks were referred to as "MAs" - I was so excited, I couldn't really concentrate on what anyone was saying!
