Coming to the "Light Side"
Coming to the "Light Side"
So after years of driving gas guzzling hot rods, I'm picking up my used 05 MCS (BRG) on Friday. It has the wite roof/mirrors, sunroof, Xenons, CW Package, etc. I'm looking forward to joining in on the mini lifestyle! And I hope I don't regret the switch.
Previous I had a Vortech'd 00 Mustang GT that put down 397rwhp/380rwtq, which I sold for an 03 Mustang Cobra that put down 457/486 to the wheels when I sold it. I had enough driving a fast car that I could never go fast in (read:traffic) plus it felt like driving a boat. 12-15mpg sucked too. After looking around for months, I decided I wanted a mini. I finally found this car with only 7K miles.
So, I'm glad to be here, and I look forward to being part of the forum. Ironically, I still own/operate a mustang forum for people here in Kentucky. http://www.kentuckymustangs.com Oh well, no one says you can't like both of them!

Congrats on the purchase. Nice to see a Mini owner who's relatively close.
Since you're only about 3 hrs from the Dragon, it's a must. The Dragon will go a long way towards making you forget all that lost horsepower.

Oh I plan to go! In fact I'm already set to go in September when I go to the "Grand Rod Run" down there

Welcome aboard! I came from a similar background, although mine included modded Z28s and a Firehawk. As much as I looked forward to getting my MINI, I did have a small fear that I would wake up one day regretting the whole thing due to a lack of torque and that V8 rumble. Fortunately, that hasn't happened yet. I have been thrilled with my MINI, and, if you catch me on just the right day, with a well measured audience, and in a very quiet and careful tone, I might just even admit I like the MINI MORE than my old Firehawk!
You may find a few who will imply you can't like both. I've seen a few here who suggest that anyone who likes a Camaro or Mustang is a mullet wearing redneck. I've also had my muscle car friends mock my "cute" little 4 cylinder car. To each their own. My tastes tend to be wide and varied.
Enjoy!
