Niello is the way to go. They didn't require a deposit (if you have decent credit). Ordered the car right off, now just waiting for it to arrive, and we'll complete the transaction. Fantastic sales staff too!

PEZ,
glad to hear you will be able to get your MCS. I got mine in March or April this year and know you will enjoy it, too. One of my buddies talked me into putting a larger air box and 15% supercharger pulley on it before mine was even broken in. Difference between stock and these changes are incredible. You've got to do this, too.

These sound like great mods. But I'm not totally familiar with them. The "air box" is something that boosts the air intake through the scoop, right?

Don't know at all about the 15% supercharger pulley. Can you provide some input or links for more info (installation, effects on performance, etc.)?

I'm a bit leary of doing internal mods like that because I have heard that the warranty could be voided. I have a feeling that a stock MCS with a LSD will, by comparison of my 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup , have sufficient hair blow-back value to keep me happy

Hi, I am in socal, and I had planned on ordering my mini from the dealer in torrance on monday. However, I am not opposed to ordering out of state. Actually, I think, out of state might be to my advantage. I sent an email to classic in ohio (my home state). But, a cali order would be easier. SB tells me that orders placed now will go to production in sept, delivery late nov, dec. How does that go into play with the factory shut down and with pending production of the 07's? I want to nail down my deal by monday. Ya'll, I am getting nervous here! Suggestions?

Email every dealer in cali and see who and how they respond. If u know anyone with a MINI, they'll have a book that came with the owner's manual stating every dealer in the U.S. with their email address.

...or , if u can afford it, get the JCW tuning kit, factory installed. It has a significant power increase which is smooth, equal to or better than the mod you cited AND with factory warranty.

Niello of Sacramento rocks

Gromit801, I'm with you on this. I first called Niello on May 31 and got a production number after a couple of days. They did not require any deposit. My MA, Wade Gardner, was always nice and courteous. And I received my Mini last Thursday, slightly ahead of schedule. I not sure if anybody had a good experience with Mini of San Francisco but when I called them initially, they want $1800 markup. Another advantage is the lower sales tax in Sacramento 7.75 compare to 8.75 in San Francisco.

On another subject, I'm looking for a car alarm and ipod adapter. Any recommedation for an aftermarker or should I stick with the OEM? Thanks in advance.

Our MS was also Wade Gardner! We're having the OEM iPod adapter installed. I figure I'd rather have the experts do it, then trust myself with wiring, or "Pimp Ride's Rolling Boombox Car Stereo Shop." I might go back at some point and have Niello install the alarm too.

Great! I will attemp the self-installation of the alarm and just probably have the dealer activate it. I initially ordered the ipod adapter but cancelled it in the last moment. I had second thought because of the limitations as far as just being able to play 5 or 6 playlist. I need to give this some thought and also see the alternative out there.

There's been some great threads about how to get the most out of your Pod. Might do a search. As long as I can shuffle, I'm fine. I'll probably stuff one playlist with all the tunes, and shuffle them, and my podcasts on another playlist to listen to.

Hey guys-

One word of caution- check EVERYTHING and keep your paperwork.
Wade screwed things up and tried to charge me twice for my JCW wheels!!
(I didnt know until I got the letter from the "collection lawyer.")

okay...
make that two.

Be REALLY careful when going in for service... those guys have NO idea how to work on MINIs!!!!

Awesome car Checker! Happy motoring!

Ok, Wade made a mistake, and my dear, so did you for not catching it before signing it.

We're all ultimately responsible for our purchase.

Thought you live in Nebraska?

MiniMaxx, $500 off of invoice?? Or MSRP? If MSRP, I still want to know how you managed that. If invoice, you may be my new personal hero. Do tell!

$500 off MSRP is great, $500 off invoice is almost unheard of

Gromit801, I'm leaning on getting dice instead of oem ipod adapter. I think it has all the functionality of the OEM plus more accordinga a thread that I was reading. And the sell point for me is being able to display the songs from the car stereo display.

Not sure what your referring to here. I've talked to several dealers who have stated that there is no deadline to order an '06.

It might be that specific dealer, and the time it's been taking them to get a car. I agree that quoting July is pretty far fetched.

I work in Concord and wanted to go with them too... they even had my exact specs choice on the lot, but wouldn't knock down their markup to less than 2000 and would only give me 10K for my Z3.. so East Bay it is..
