JCW Intake plus entire kit

I am new to the site and to owning a Mini, I've waited 4 years for one, and finally got into a 2006 Space Blue MCS and I love. I didn't get to order it from the factory because my wife and I were in a hurry to get into a car/Mini due to selling my old rig. I am looking at getting a couple upgrades i.e. JCW intake, possible Checkmate pkg conversion, wondering if they can do that aftermarket and the steel screens that protect the radiator in the front, as well as the back screens. I want to replace the black plastic ones with steel ones, wondering if anyone has done that yet. And one last thing. I hear a popping sound after I let off the accelerator in 1st and 2nd, wondering if anyone else gets that sound. I figure it's the SC engine, but just want to hear what others think.

As for the JCW parts, you should be able to fit them yourself, so don't get screwed over on labor costs. And you can buy the parts from some vendors, or your dealer.

And for the popping sound, that is perfectly normal and is the backfire!

I didnt think you could add the checkmate package. Sure you can get the wheels and decals and placks but you would also need to swap out the dash, steering wheel and door panels and seat skins.

I love hearing this from BMW employees Just remember if you go JCW to maintain warranty; then let the dealer do the install.

Welcome to NAM!

MINIs run rich and the sound is the extra gas in entering the exhuast; MINIs were programmed to run like this in stock form from 05-on, perfectly normal. Most of us refer to this as burble.

Race cars do it to; but they don't have CATs and Mufflers to block everything:

I wish I could mod my mini to shoot flames out the back.

I was thinking more like napalm so it would stick to the road and leave nice little fire trails where ever I go
