Woo hoo!

Except that I found the part where my MINI was already in the country a lot harder than the earlier waiting.

...........SO...............CLOSE................
YET....................SO..............FAR........ ...

But soon! Sorry I haven't been here much...busy obsessing in the detailing forum.

We'll have Gromit in time to join the Mini2 California Dreamin tour from SF through Yosemite. Planning the route.

Wow! Now it's time for those of us on the East Coast to be envious.

Glad to hear the wait is almost over on the West Coast.

So does anyone have an ETA from their MA? How realistic do you think it is?

Well, I finally got the convenience opening turned on today. The service guy at Herb Chambers was surprised that it wasn't on in the first place and set it up in about 15 minutes. Yay! And I'll be going back on Saturday afternoon to pick up a glove box organizer and a boot net. And hopefully I will not be back to the dealership again until my 10k service.

YEEEEHAAWW! Just got a call from Wade, our MA. Gromit is scheduled to be at the dealer tomorrow! Allowing for the possibility of getting bumped to a second truck, we'll probably have him for the weekend and the start of my vacation!

Status update: Ok, not really an update as MINI still can't find my car. My dealership has called twice and the VDC is "checking into it."

Cracking good news, Gromit!

GB, tell them you're coming to see them, and bringing your friend Vito.

UPDATE! Just spoke to my MA. The deal with Mary is this: the aero kit front bumper was damaged when the VDC received it. So, they've been waiting all this time for a new one to come in. It's being painted today and probably put on tomorrow. He's hoping for sometime at the beginning of next week to receive her. Then, it will be about a week after that before I can pick her up. I'm guess-tamating the 29th as D-day.

What's the convenience opening?

Logan will be revisiting HC tomorrow, too--they didn't install the iPod adapter correctly. The nice thing is that when I asked Mark in service about his availability to fix it, he said, "You don't even want to know what my schedule looks like. Just come in, and I'll take care of it." Nice. Will probably buy a glove box organizer, too, if they have another in stock. Too bad we keep making it there on different days!

Other than that, I'm _loving_ Logan! Waiting for my Zaino order to come in, and specing out what else I need from Autopia. Hey, does anyone here have a good recommendation for an interior cleaning product I can use on leatherette seats, dash, speedo/tach plastic, etc?

GBMiniGirl, so glad they found Mary! Getting there....

If you need any Zaino help, feel free to PM me. I'm the local Zaino goddess. Since you're going that direction, I HIGHLY recommend their plastic cleaner for the dash panels and speedo/dash plastic. It also kicks butt on all the chromed-over plastic bits. The detail spray works great on the doors, as does the tire dressing. I like putting their leather cleaning stuff on the leatherette seats. Cleans great and makes it smell like it's the real thing.

First thing I'm going to do when I get Mary is get her claybarred and Zaino'd up!

Convenience opening is when you use the remote to open up the windows and sunroof. It's supposed to be a default setting, but somehow got missed on my mini.

Mark is great - that's who set the convenience opening for me. It would be cool to meet a fellow NAMer. Maybe we'll be in for our 10k service at the same time.

Other than that, I'm _loving_ Logan!
Well of course, how could you not?

What can I say. I have a great MA and dealer!

What port do Mini's bound for Texas come through? Seems the Port Hueneme VDC has their stuff together.

Charleston, SC....who apparently doesn't have their stuff together. Oh well. Why can't there be a VDC in Houston? We've got a huge port. That way, I could drive down there and "break some kneecaps."
