Woohoo!!

As of Wednesday night I'm the proud not-even-close-yet owner of a Royal Grey MCS! (it's on order... ) The wife and I started out on this adventure planning on looking at a whole slew of vehicles but after the first MINI test-drive, it was all over. Thankfully, she's been really supportive of my new obsession and surprisingly enthusiastic herself...which makes me wonder if "my" car is gonna be "our" by the time it hits these shores. Unfortunately when I put in the production number in the Mini Owners Lounge it said that it's a hyper-blue; I dunno what's going on there.

Anyhow, we got the silver roof and bonnet stripes, chrome mirrors/ interior/ and hood scoop, Sport Package and LSD, anthracite headliner and dash, sun/moon roof, HK system, and cockpit chrono. I almost went with the chrome grill, but I figured it'd be a little too much bling. Either way, I'm thinkin' it's gonna look sweet.

Hopefully when it gets here (late July, they're saying) I can get out with some fellow Mini-ers in the Richmond area and tear up the back roads.

The OL tends to run a little but behind, it is quite likely a similar speced MINI is going to be adjusted (everything already assembled is as you spec'd then that which is yet to be done is adapted to what you ordered). Sounds like you may end up with two MINIs before long (hurry up and order second).

Welcome to NAM; there seems to be a strong Richmod and VA showing here on NAM so it shouldn't be long before someone from your area posts here.

Welcome. What happens with MINI orders is that the dealer is allocated montly allotment. Each slot is for a specific vehicle with whatever options and colors the dealer wants for a spec car. When your order is placed, it replaces one of these slots. As mentioned, it takes 2-4 days for the changes to hit the OL system.

Thanks everybody! Now I feel like part of the "family" instead of the outside observer. I'll have to photoshop a picture of me with a Mini for the "show your face" thread. Oh, everyone was right, the OL site was running a little behind. The color has been updated to Royal Grey. Sweeeet!

Donna- You have no idea! My wife and I are already asking each other "Is the MINI here yet?" about every 12 hours or so. Gonna make the two months really long if we don't quit that soon.

Turcicus- I ended up getting it from Crown. I called Checkered Flag, but they had the same prices for all the dealer installed options, processing fees, etc. So I figured I might as well just get it from the dealer 5 minutes from home.
