Dealer inspection on delivery
Dealer inspection on delivery
Hey everyone - I'm just curious...
Does anyone know how long it takes for the techs at the Mini dealer to inspect the new arrival before passing it over to you? 30 minutes? an hour? two?

I think it was a couple of hours. Depends on if you are getting any dealer installed accessories. Mine was all factory installed, so it was more of a cleaning, checkup on all paperwork, I'm assuming air, fluids, etc. They put on the license plates/brackets if needed in your area.
If you are filling out finance paperwork, it will probably take more time to go thru that then the prep. I had that all set before hand so I was bringing a check.
Good luck, it's hard to wait.

See - my thing is. My MA doesn't work past 5pm today. Well, normal people work 9-5 so that kinda puts a damper on things. She told me it would be here today so I arranged everything I needed prior to today - ie. my parents are getting off work early, I'm getting off work early, I arranged to have someone drive my other car home, etc.
Well, my car left South Carolina on Thursday afternoon - she is saying that the car won't be in until 5-8pm today and the techs leave around 6pm. I'm not sure if I really buy that because I know it doesn't take 4 days to get to Illinois from SC... unless the truckers don't work on weekends. Does anyone know anything about this?
My theory is that my MA is concerned that she'll be kept there late if I do go in there today (since I won't be getting there until around 3). Does anyone have another take on this?

The trucking company runs 7 days per week,, alot of when they unload depends on the dealer being open to receive the cars.
Once a car arrives, it has to be inspected and received from the trucking company,,, cleaned up and then the state inspection has to be done. Of course, any dealer installed options have to be done.
Barring dealer installed options,,, I am sure it can be done in 2-3 hours if all the people doing the work are there.
