Just a word of advise. Neither ABS nor DSC will help you if you are driving on worn out tires. Allowing extra room is not enough, you also need to slow down. Most of all you need to get better tires. Never try to "save money" by driving on worn out tires. It is false economy! Tires are much cheaper than funerals, either someone elses or yours.

Worn out = at the wear bars (3/32" of tread still showing) When new, tires have approximately 10 - 11/32" of tread. When you wear away 4/32" of tread you have less than half of the wet weather traction. This is something that needs to be remembered whenever you are driving in the rain.

Now that you are driving a high preformance sports hatch it is even more important that you keep good tires under it. They are your only connection with the road. They are your protection from loss of control due to loss of traction. They will not however protect you from driver error. So, remember always drive within your ability. The MCS is capable and willing to do it's part to help protect you from yourself, if you give it a chance.

Don't worry about modding your ride until you have payed it off and can pay for all of your insurance and your mods. Until that time just enjoy a great ride like nothing else on the road.

Enjoy your new ride.

Tell your parental units that AutoX is one of the best ways for you to learn how to drive better and learn more about the handling of your new ride. My son and I go to several AutoX events every year. It is a good and very safe way to improve your driving ability.

If your MCS has the OBC (onboard computer) there will be a small **** on the top of the turn signal wand that will change the display in the tach. When you toggle thru the options the cars with OBC have 5 functions, without there are only 2 functions. The OBC does not record milage, but there is a trip odometer in the display of the speedometer. It can be reset, returned to zero, by pushing in on the small black button in the lower right face of the speedo. If you want to check if your mother drives it, do not leave it set on zero.

Thanks guys, especially Bilbo!

I wouldn't say the tires are that worn out on the truck, it's just that the truck sucks, and the tires are cheap-whatever econo tires lol! I got the truck for free so oh well....I have no need now!

And btw: When the stock RF's get worn down I plan on wrapping some Kumho Escta MX 215/40R17's matched with (maybe) some OZ Ultraleggera's!

My friend has Kumho Escta RSX 275/40R17's on his Mustang and they handle pretty well, and the MX's are suppose to be better. Better start saving my money now....they run ~$120/tire plus the Ultraleggera's, ~$240/rim!

That's....~$1440....maybe I should pick some different rims!

To compare the price of the packages with the individual components, use the build your own feature on the MINI USA website. I just ordered my MINI, and did get individual components instead of the premium package (didn't want the sunroof). However, you may find that you do not save enough money by eliminating certain items to not to buy the entire package.

Yes, I've done that many many times. I think the cheapest I could get an MCS for was ~$25k sticker, with just the Premium and Cold pack. O well, I'm getting this MCS so I think I'll be happy!

He has stupid stickers on the side of the wheel arches...any advice on how to take those off? I was thinking just heat them up with a heatgun and use dental floss?

Hate to sound like a broken record but, go to "detailing 101" on this site. I didn't go through all the pages (38) but on page 4 there was a thread about removing decals. I'll try and copy the shortcut. Don't know if it will work.
