Anyone Notice...

Has anyone else noticed...

Before I got my Mini, I saw them EVERYWHERE and it tortured me knowing mine wasn't here yet.

After I got my MCS, I almost never see them. If I do, then they are on the other side of the freeway.

Also, is the spitir of the MC dead?! Cause before I got my MCS I was on NAM for quite a while on my other SN. And I always heard of this family of MC and how everyone's kind to one another on the roads, they wave and what not. I think to date I've had two waves.

Everyone else looks at me like I'm a moron when I wave at em. I usually see either a much older crowd or rich kids with what appears to be a graduation present Mini; neither of which pay any attention to the Mini Spirit.

I dunno... I love my MCS... but I'm a little bummed.

I've had a hot streak here in NH. The past 3 days on the way home from work going down rt101 in the Keene area, I've seen multiple minis and gotton waves and headlights from other Minis. I'll admit though it's been a while since that's happened.

I drove around Portland today and only saw 2 minis and neither of them waved back. You would think that someone who most likely waited 8 months like me to get their Mini would be more excited.

I get an occasional wave so I figured I keep doing it. I'll eventually be known as the wacky guy with the HB Mini who waves at everyone.

Back in the early 90's I got a Miata and for awhile people would wink the headlights (roll them without turning them on)... As more of cars came out there, it became more of an occasional event as new owners didnt have the Miata mindset.

I am sure today, the Mini is the same, although I have to say, everyone who owns a Mini that I have talked to loves them,,, only one person got rid of theirs after 9 months, but they admit, that they may had kept it had they bought the hardtop, not the convertible which didnt get alot of use in hot/humid Houston.

This topic pops up a lot. I think that some folks just happen bump into MINIs on a lot and buy them, not knowing a thing about MINI protocol! The dealerships should have a list of "how to motor properly" to give to each buyer...including, "be sure to wave to other motorers whenever you see them!"

Then, incredibly, a MC convertible appeared in front of me, and stayed there during the final leg of my freeway cruise! I kept looking in my rear view mirror, half expecting another MINI to materialize, but then my exit came up.

When I got to work, I placed my MCS order. Now it's built...I wish they would get it to the port a little quicker! And yes, I continue to see MINIs everywhere I look. :impatient
I was pretty surprised about the exhaust system with the S. I never thought that the manufacturer would have such an aggresive system. It's got a GREAT tone to it. Little bit quiet for my tastes.. but it's nice none the less. And also the "Burble" from the exhaust is really nice; noticable.

I like the burble more and more each day. I am getting better at triggering it at low speeds without reving the engine (waiting a little longer to downshift) so I can get attention from pedestrians at stoplights. I came to a stop today and got 3 people to turn and look at me when the burble kicked in. I then try to look all innocent
