Having recently purchased my 2004 DS/B MCS and reading the camaraderie that exists here on the NAM forums, I felt that I had to join in the fun.
It all began last fall when I took a co-worker’s Cooper out for a spin and have to admit that I was really impressed, I mean really really impressed. My first thought was WOW I haven’t had so much fun driving in a long time. Second thought was I have to get me one of these.
Well it wasn’t long after, I contacted the mini dealers in Montreal area and then the day came, I was made an offer on a DS/B 2004 JCW Cooper S that I just couldn’t turn down, and so I said good-bye to the ’98 A4 and took the plunge.
My wife is calling it my mid-life crisis toy and let me tell you, what a toy to have. It seems so easy for me to get wrapped up in the motoring experience that I loose all sense of what's happening around me. Well motoring as I knew it is now over.

Welcome to NAM...congrats on the new S. Are there any good twisty roads around Montreal for releasing that MINI energy? We've traveled to Montreal every year since 1990 to attend the F1 race, but have really never ventured out of the city to explore the 'back' roads...

If you haven't already, I highly recommend visiting the rue Peel area on the Friday night of the GP weekend...MINIs everywhere!

Welcome aboard neighbor! If you are ever planning to drive and drop down into Northern Vermont drop me a line. I might also be tavelling up towards Mt. Tremblant as well.

I feel your same motoring vibes - Sold my Porsche 944 and the wife now drives our Audi //S6. You just can't match the total package the MINI delivers. She did drive the Cooper S last night and after a few twisties looked over and smiled at me and asked, "when can I drive this to work"?

ps I plan to race my 1/10 scale nitro race car up at a track where 133 Nord crosses Pike River this summer.

 

First of all, thanks everyone for the welcome. And if anyone is planning to come to Montreal for the Grand Prix this June, it might be worth trying to organize an outing to discover the twisties around here. I am sure that several mini owners in the area would be willing to join the fun...........who knows this could be the start of something.

I also do go to Vermont quite often and I am looking forward to driving the pass at Smugglers Notch this summer.
