It'll be interesting to see how the shipping from the Hamptons will be like to California...I'm still confused as to where it actually gets shipped.
I ordered from the Hamptons, It went on the Truck March 29, from there to Chicago on the train to LA and then a truck to Me or Sacramento as far as the trucking co will take it. So I'm told so don't quote me on any of this. Estimated delivery is in signature. Good Luck too all of you and Happy Motoring,

I ordered Betty from Ill and there were no problems. They charged me the tax and there is no smog problems. You will haveto get it smogged once she arrives. htat was the only hassle. The savings in time and $$ was $3,000 that is a pretty expensive smog.... I ordered from John at patrick mini (847)310-4346. He was the best.

Lars,

I forgot to suggest LB MINI when I posted earlier. My on-order MCS is being ordered from LB and I picked up my 05' MC from them last July, new off the lot. They are an MSRP dealer, however I'm not sure what the wait is right now. (They do bump repeat customers up in the order waitlist, so my wait might be abnormally quick....or not.)

If you do call them, speak with Matt Limburg, an enthusiastic MA if I ever met one. Good luck again!

It sounded good, so I placed an order and cancelled the previous one. A production number was provided immediately, a good sign. So if everything works out OK, I'll be in my MCS in time for summer.
Lars,

Woohoo, that was quick! So two weeks from Mid-May is June...which means you'll be in your MINI by the beginning of summer, just two weeks after I will pick my MCS up! You get the benefit of having only 9 days at sea, versus our 21 days! I'm glad you were so proactive and got that last slot. Now what are your specs, if you've told us already I've forgotten

Lars,

Congrats! I've followed your posts and I'm glad to hear your MINI is on order. My PH/W 06 MCS is our 2nd one ordered from Classic and I'll be driving this one back home to Calif. as well. It's a piece of cake getting it smogged and licensed. The hardest part is the wait, but stay with us on NAM and whatever other MINI sites you're on and the time will fly by.

You are so right. The sales people were not nice. Sort of hot sexy ******* who couldn't care less. The MA at patrick Mini was GREAT (John Guilano) and i was very happy with everything... Now I am in heaven with my little Pam... she is the best little go cart - rocket ever.
Now I have to say that I needed some minor work on Pam.... (new name..use to be Betty), and I took her to Bob Smith. Their service dept is the best. I have to give them that. The best. The cute little redhead came out to help me and I just thought cute.... then she showed me that she is also smart and knows her Mini's. Well from her to the check out girl... again really cute but nothing but first calss help. They were really great.
SO.... buy your mini out of state and go to Bob Smith for service
