MINI Welcome Kit

Just got my MINI Welcome Kit !!!

Here is what was inside the little black box -

- Large black rubber band holding contents emblazoned "Let's Motor"
- MINI Note from Managing Director of MINI USA advising to have patience with the hordes who will be curious about your MINI
- Business card holder filled with 2 copies each of six different business cards with a MINI photo on one side and cute slogan with MINI USA website on other ("Let's Market....")
- Card describing MINI Owner's Lounge and inviting you to join
- Roadside Assistance Card with my VIN Number and "In Service Date" - which was actually five days after I really picked it up
- Card describing "Idiosyncrasies of your New MINI Convertible" - notihing here that I haven't seen in other places except for an explanation of the exhaust popping sound (intentional), the power steering pump noise, contolling cabrio wind noise with your rear windows, and advice on getting your top to work with all the kill switches in the boot you need to worry about.
- Encyclopedia of Open Motoring - I have seen some of this before but this definately seems to be the extended edition
- MINI Messaging Kit - a bunch of cards to flash messages to other motorers in a CD Case
- MINI Journal - Really cool - a hardcover blank diary (with room for photos or drawings on each page) to record your motoring experiences
- Interstate Highway Bingo - two copies for back seat occupants
- Cool fluid filled MINI Pen with tiny orange MC traveling from Hollywood to NYC
- And my all time favorite - "Let's Customize our Bodies" - adhesive body decals meant to be worn while naked (or partially so) motoring around - so that sunburn gives you a shadow tattoo. Included are matching flame images, crossed checkered flags, the number 37, a crescent moon, a sun, and a huge calligraphic "Motor" image, suitable for the lower back above your bottom (but how would you ever expose that while motoring????)

All in all, an enjoyable set of swag - and able to being me a few laughs on a cold Saturday afternoon. Will definately use the MINI Journal, Pen and a few other pieces. Will offer up the body tattoos to attractive passengers....

Bill

Wow. No welcome kit here and I am 3 weeks into my MCS. Neat stuff but nothing really worth complaining about is there?

It took over a month for me to receive my Welcome Kit.

My wife told me not to lose the black rubber band. She said it looked like a replacement fan belt.

Roughly four to five weeks to get mine in. Cool stuff though. I thought the journal thing was neat. I'll definitely use it.

I liked the labels for the toggle switches....I relabeled the DCS toggles as the "EJECT" button...very cool. Especially when you are showing people the inside of the car...kodak moments.... Mick

My understanding is that although it is shipped from MINI USA, your dealership has to "sign you up" to receive it.
I've seen a few folks call MINI USA and then get a Welcome Kit shipped to them ...

Hmmmm, didn't even know there was such a thing as a "Mini Welcome Kit". Took delivery of my Mini on 1/31/2006, so if what read is correct, and "if" I've been signed, up I should get one some time in march... maybe

OK, I just got home from work and guess what was waiting for me... my "Mini Welcome Kit" Which means it took exactly four weeks to get here.

Since I don't have the Cabrio I didn't get the fun body tatoos :( Got everything else though

Cheers

I loved the MINI messaging kit! How many of you actually used it? I kept "Nice Smile" and "Hang up and Enjoy the Ride" almost daily

I got my kit almost immediately with my lst MINI, it took a little while to get the kit when I bought my 2nd...so give it a little bit longer...it's probably "in the mail." Mick
